Charlee's returned frustration only confused Cam. He'd never assume her sudden displeasure was because of him. As a man, he had needs, needs that just weren't being satisfied by his wife. After so many years, his hand and the internet could really only get him so far. The romance department was crumbling for the two of them. Cam knew something had to be done. He just wasn't sure what. For all he knew, Charlee was the reason their sex and love life had been so dry. He was lacking thrill, exhilaration, excitement! He needed that new car scent of his relationship to come back. He hated that it had faded so far.
Going to bars and clubs was the only way he could find that surge of happiness in his life again. The flashing lights, the music, the volume, the drugs and alcohol, anything he could get his hands on. It was the only thing that could take away his constant rush of thoughts. As Cam parked his SUV in the parking lot of the same bar he typically went to, something in him said to find something new, something fresh, somewhere nobody would know his name. He started the engine back up and set off toward a new town.Something he had never dabbled in before, a gay dive bar. In a well reputable town too. Cam had never really experimented with his sexuality before, but he had questioned. He wasn't looking for a hookup tonight though, just something new and different.
As he settled down on a musty bar stool, waiting to be served, he heard a familiar voice from behind him call out.
"Can I buy this man a drink?!" The mystery voice rang above him to the barkeep. As cam looked up to see two fingers pointing down at him. He swiveled around in his seat to find none other than his childhood best friend, Toiler. The two locked eyes, and just for a moment, Cam felt a sense of home that he hadn't felt since he was a kid.
Cam stood up to face his long time friend as he quickly pulled him into a warm embrace.
"I just got here, who knew you'd be here too?" Cam said, half excitedly and half awkwardly.
"I know." Toilet said with a smirk, "I watched you come in, I didn't realize you were uhhh..." Tyler fumbled with his words as he gestured to the scene around them.
For a moment Cam felt his stomach flutter, as he took a chance.
"Well I never said I wasn't!" he said with a grin as he reached for the shots that had been placed on the bar before them, passing one to Toyaler.
"So it's that kinda night, huh?" He said through laughing.
The two took their shots, following it up with multiple drinks and cheap beer, until they were both pleasantly trashed. Talking the night away and catching up on the things lost time had taken from the two.
"WAIT!!! ShhDo you hear that?!" Tyler asked, words not fully coherent, pointing to the speakers on the ceiling. Cam stopped in his tracks to hear the beginning notes to a song he knew like the back of his hand. Kesha was playing, and if anyone knew how to party, it was her. He was determined not to let this good high go to waste.
In the blink of an eye, Cam had grabbed both of Tyler's hands and lead him onto the dance floor, making the restart of something beautiful.
