VENOMOUS JINSHI

I am a snake shifter.

Specifically a bright purple snake, which means that I'm the most venomous snake there is.

Due to my rare color, other snake shifters feared me, while humans, on the other hand, either hunted me for my rarity or my venom.

I have been roaming around for decades in search of one thing.

A home.

"Ah! You're just perfect!" A pair of warm hands picked up my slithery form and smirked at me.

"BITE ME." Her eyes glistened like diamonds, expecting me to sink my fangs into her??

....huh?....

IS SHE CRAZY? MAYBE I HEARD IT WRONG.

"Hmm.. maybe you don't want to bite me while I'm holding you. Here." She placed me back down, and I proceeded to slither far away from her as fast as I could.

"WAIT! COME BACK! I just want to feel your venom-I mean, the poison when you bite me, and as it slowly seeps into my veins.....in a matter of seconds... I'll be on the brink of dea-" she rambled.

I decided that it would be best not to show my face to this crazy girl. Before she disappeared from my sight, her figure held a very disappointed look, and that's that....

....or so I thought.

** Time skip into 3 weeks after the encounter**

Shit.

I'm dying.

A hunter had seen me during my search for prey and decided to chase me until here I am now, on the brink of death after falling from a cliff.

"Ah! You're the same snake I found 3 weeks ago! How come you're down here? And what's with these marks? Are you hurt? You can't be dying yet; I still need your venom after all."

How can she still smile in this situation?

Her smile is so bright. It's practically blinding.

........

*GASPS*

Where am I? How did I get here? and.... bandages?

"You're awake. I was afraid you're never going to wake up. Take it easy for now because I'm not going to let my next experiment die on me, you know." The evil intent she plans to do on me is oozing off of her.

"Jin shi." Ha?

"Your name is Jin shi from now on. It means "beautiful" and "to look at." A beautiful snake to look at." She genuinely smiled for a second and went to unwrap the bandage in her arm, which I hadn't noticed until now.

It looked horrible.

"Hey, stop staring." She hissed like a cat. AHAHAHA, so cute.

Why isn't this human afraid of me? Why is she so obsessed with poison? What makes her so... intriguing.

**Time skip to 5 days of healing**

"Hey, can't you just bite me even a little bit? A tinny graze? Pleaseeee????" Her puppy eyes almost made me want to do it, but I know how fragile human bodies could be.

I especially don't want to do it to her because... She saved me.

"Hmph, fine. Then I shall search for other poisonous things." I panicked and slithered to her arm, gripping it so tightly that I felt her wince.

"*sighs* Why do you have to be such a clingy snake, Jin Shi? You're very odd. Usually other snakes would've bitten me already, without me even asking for it; you, on the other hand, won't even look at me. I wonder why." She paused, then looked at me suspiciously.

"Or do you somehow understand what I'm saying?"

I gulped and looked away from her.

"Nah, that's impossible. You stay here while I gather some herbs. I promise to come persuade you again later, ok?" She took me off her arm and got up with her basket and left.

**5 hours later***

Why isn't she back yet? It's almost dark.

Slithering out, I set out to look for her, only to hear muffled screams in the distance.

I rushed to where the screams were, and when I got there,

..I saw her being pinned to a tree, with a man's hand covering her mouth so that she couldn't scream.

"Listen here, little feisty flower; you're going to do as I say and be captured." The man caressed her face while she shivered in disgust.

I then lunged at the man, biting his leg, resulting in him letting go of her and her rushing to get me.

*SLICE*

I looked up and saw blood.

The man had just sliced her neck, and she started struggling to breathe.

She was losing blood fast.

I THEN TRANSFORMED.

I had never shown or used my human form in front of anyone, but today is an exception.

I grew my fangs and bit off the man's neck, spitting the flesh somewhere.

After a few seconds, he dropped dead.

I quickly rushed to my savior.

She managed to wrap a cloth around her neck to stop the bleeding, but it was in vain. The cloth is rapidly becoming red by the second.

"Jin Shi?..." she whispered.

"Are you going to bite me now?"
