(A/N: This chapter is inspired by the song, "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" from Taylor's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department." When I first heard the song and decoded the lyrics, I realized that this so Kainess coded so I was inspired to write this chapter for them. Please kindly note that the italicized texts below depict the lyrics and the past events that happened between Kaiser and Ness before this main story. Normal texts are indicated to be in the present event of the story. I don't own anything from this franchise. Respective ownership belongs to Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura for this wonderful manga and Taylor Swift for this beautiful yet bittersweet song.)

Oh, here we go again.
The voices in his head
Called the rain to end our days of wild
The sickest army doll
Purchased at the mall
Rivulets descend my plastic smile
But you should've seen him
When he first got me

"You still got soap in your eyes even though I already trimmed your hair." Ness exclaimed laughingly as he watched Kaiser struggle to turn on the swiitch of the shower.

"Shut up Alexis. Just help me in washing this damn thing off my face." Kaiser grumbled petulantly.

Ness sighed in fond exasperation as he turned on the shower switch and helped Kaiser wash off the bubbles and suds away from his face.

"It's a good thing that I'm here or you'll be entirely helpless in this ordeal." Ness replied lightheartedly as his hands kneaded his scalp gently under the warm water from the showerhead cascading down their bodies.

For a moment, Kaiser didn't reply, and they grew into a comfortable silence with the occasional soft hum that was leaving Ness' lips.

As soon as the bubbles were out of his eyes and his vision cleared, Kaiser took both of Ness' hands that were on his scalp and pinned them on the wall.

Ness could only blink owlishly at his actions. "Michael?"

"If this was any other time, I would've refuted your words. But you're right about that now. I'm glad that you're here with me Alexis." Kaiser murmured as a rare, soft smile inched across his lips which made Ness' heart somersault inside his chest and cheeks grew warm at his words.

It's not every day that Kaiser was like this, but Ness was happy that he was the only one who got to see him like this.

He didn't push him away when Kaiser leaned down and captured his lips in a languorous yet deep kiss and kissed him back in equal ardor and fervor, the cacophony of their moans and grunts of pleasure were drowned out by the loud streaming sounds of water from the showerhead.

My boy only breaks his favorite toys
I'm queen of sand castles he destroys
Cause it fit too right
Puzzle pieces in the dead of night
Should've known it was a matter of time
Oh, my boy only breaks his favorite toys

The soft creaking sounds of the door reached Ness' line of hearing and he woke up from his slumber on the couch and stared at the doorway to reveal Kaiser's figure entering inside.

Ness checked his watch blearily and found out that it was already 3AM in the morning which made the remaining shred of sleepiness disappear from his eyes and gazed again at his figure with a small frown on his face.

"Hi Michael... I thought you were going home at 8PM just as we've agreed over the phone yesterday..." He said faintly as he realized that the dinner, he prepared at the dining table was now cold.

Kaiser paused in walking upstairs and glanced at him disinterestedly. "Oh that. Sorry I forgot to inform you last night that Erik and the others invited me to somewhere in the city after practice." He replied blandly before he resumed walking upstairs.

He swallowed thickly as he watched Kaiser walk upstairs and left him alone in the living room, not even uttering nor remembering that yesterday was their anniversary.

There was a litany of reasons why
We could've played for keeps this time
I know I'm just repeating myself
Put me back on my shelf
But first - Pull the string
And I'll tell you that he runs
Because he loves me.
Cause you should've seen him
When he first saw me.

"Still gonna wait for him?" Erik asked as he casually slung the towel on his shoulder and began heading towards the shower room.

"Yeah. You know how Kaiser is Ness. You've got the patience of a saint to always wait for him for hours before going home." Gesner commented as he walked alongside Erik going to the showers.

Ness tried to smile at them. "Well, it's the usual for us. And it's not like Kaiser is being like that as always!" He defended him laughingly.

Erik and Gesner paused and looked back at him before shooting each other subtle but knowing glances at each other and resumed their walk.

"Okay. Whatever you say Ness."

When they finally left him alone, Ness' smile dropped off from his face and was replaced by muted despair, dimming the sparkle on his eyes as he read the message from Kaiser on the screen of his phone.

'You go ahead without me and probably start the dinner without me. I'll run something important at the city tonight.'

Ness had stopped counting the days when Kaiser was like this to him, the memory of their early years of warm companionship fading at the back of his mind.

My boy only breaks his favorite toys
I'm queen of sand castles he destroys
Cause I knew too much
There was danger in the heat of my touch
He saw forever so he smashed it up
Oh, my boy only breaks his favorite toys

Once I fix me, he's gonna miss me
Once I fix me, he's gonna miss me

Present Events...

As Ness was busy preparing his clothes and other things for his wedding today, something fell on the ground, and he picked it up with his hand.

A small frown adorned his face.

It was a small figure of a wizard that Kaiser brought him years ago as a small souvenir he got from the overseas when his team went in Spain for a match.

The small figure already looked worn out and there was already a tear from the side of its arms.

A small sigh escaped from his lips as he threw it unceremoniously from the other side of the room.

He couldn't waste his time on other trivial things as he decided to move things forward and focus on other important aspects of his life.

And that doesn't include things that will just remind him of the misery and heartache that he experienced with .

Just say when, I'd play again
He was my best friend
Down at the sandlot
I felt more when we played pretend
Than with all the Kens
Cause he took me out of my box
Stole my tortured heart
Left all these broken parts
Told me I'm better off
But I'm not
I'm not
I'm not.
