Trouble in the 4-oh-2

Old friend

"Hey" Nate greeted me as he walked back into my room.
"Oh hi" I answered handing him the ultrasounds.
"Do you know what is is yet?" He asked while still looking at the pictures.
"Nah to soon to tell, why what do you wanna have" I asked.
"I gotta go i'll catch you later call me if you need anything, but uhmm if you wanna come by my place you should call first" He said while putting the ultrasounds on the bed. "Yea okay" I managed to mumble.
As soon an Nate left the tears poured out my eyes. I wanted him to want to be this child's father, I know the chances are slim but I need this to work. My tears were interrupted by a text from Nate

"Its best if you, and me aren't together anymore."

"im pregnant what the fuck do you mean" I answered back.

"Look im not stupid, i knew what type of girl you were before we got together, and for all i know that baby isn't mine,"

"BUT IT IS"

I hated that I was lying to him, but I was positive this child was not Nate's. He texted me back but I didn't read.I set my phone down on the bed just as cesca and Sam walked in hand in hand.

"Hey are you guys okay?" Cesca asked me breaking contact with Sam. "Yes we are" I answered happily just as cesca's phone started to ring. "Let me take this I'll be back" she said half way out the door.
"So you're really pregnant?" Sam asked picking up my ultrasounds taking a look. "Yeah I am" I answered.
"Is it mine?" He asked which didn't surprise me considering we have slept together multiple times. "Nope" I shot my tone making it obvious I no longer wanted him in the room. Cesca walked in saving me from Sam. "Sorry that was" she started to say, but I was starting to get irritated for no reason so I cut her off. "If he cheated on you why is here?" I shot her, but she must have been unaffected by my question because she just rolled her eyes and picked up the ultrasounds.
"That was a question cesca" I yelled.
"He's here because I want him to be and that's my answer" she shot me back. I wasn't in the mood to argue with anyone so I just let it go.

THE NEXT MORNING:
I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to leave the hospital. The nurse said I was far enough in my pregnancy so my
Morning sickness should start going away, but not just yet.
"Alright ms.Mallette, let me just check you and your baby's vitals one last time before we discharge you. The nurse said while pulling my shirt up to check my baby's heartbeat.
"All good, all good you are so far having a heathy pregnancy, but I recommend eating more because you are a little small. Now do not be alarmed if you wake up one day and have this little ballon belly." The nurse explained to me while laughing.
"Can I go see my mom?" I asked the nurse.
"Yes you can, but try not to pass out this time okay?!" She said while I got out the bed and grabbed my things. I was headed out the door to the elevator when I heard the nurse speak again.
"Ms. Mallette your sister is already with your mother, and please pick up that paperwork in the front before you leave." I decided to stop by the desk on my way out and head up to see my mom now.

As I walked into the room, nothing looked different. She still had tubes, and wires everywhere She looked miserable. "Hey you" clay said walking in the room. I couldn't bring myself to speak so I just looked at her.
"They are about to give her a bath so it's best if we go" clay said breaking the sad silence that filled the room. I
Kissed my mom before filling clay out.

"Where is chase?" I asked as we approached the elevator. "With his daaaaaaaddy" she sung. "Jack had really started stepping up, we are going to the courthouse next week to officially change chase's last name to Johnson! I'm so excited!!!" Clay was sti going on about jack when I approached the front desk.
"Name please" the nurse asked not looking up at me. I started to speak but she met my gaze and said
"oh ms. Mallette I do apologize, please give me a second to print your paperwork. I sat down next to clay as she was texting and a minute later the nurse called my name.
