Family Ties

Adopted

Yuya sat in his room with his counterparts one morning, opening booster packs that the four of them had bought that day. It was a little strange having them sitting with him in his room instead of being part of him, and honestly none of them were quite sure how they ended up separating and getting their own bodies back. All they knew was that a few days ago they had awakened in the morning to find themselves all in their own bodies.

Yusho and Yoko had decided to adopt Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo after some discussion. Yoko had immediately suggested it when she met them, but Yusho had only agreed after talking with the four counterparts to make sure that they would all be happy with such a development. Of course, Yuya was immediately excited at the idea of having brothers, and his counterparts were excited at the idea of having a family, so they had all immediately agreed.

Now Yusho and Yoko were out at City Hall, wanting to have the adoption legalized. The process was taking longer than the boys had hoped, since there was a lot of paperwork that had to be done, but the parents weren't about to let the lengthy adoption process get them down.

Yuri ripped open a booster pack and eagerly looked through the cards inside. He'd been hunting for an Ultra Rare for the last five minutes, but so far he hadn't found any. "Oh, come on!" he whined as he found a third Kuriboh in a row. "How many of this card are there in these packs? I want an Ultra Rare!"

"That is... an oddly high number of packs in a row with Kuribohs..." Yuto said, looking at the card. "Just how many of them are there in our purchases?"

Yugo shrugged, ripping open another booster pack. "I don't know, but that is a little weird," he said.

Suddenly they heard the sound of Yusho calling from the front door, "Boys, we're home! And we've got ice cream!"

"AW HELL YEAH!" Yuri yelled, scrambling to his feet and running out the bedroom door. "ICE CREAM!" It seemed that most people from the Fusion Dimension loved sugar and sweets, not just Sora. Then again, the strict Academia probably never let them have sweets. Yuto, Yugo, and Yuya grinned at Yuri's excitement and got up to follow him.

Yusho placed a big bucket of Neapolitan ice cream on the dining table and opened a box of ice cream cones while Yoko got an ice cream scoop out of the kitchen drawers. The two parents put double scoops of ice cream into six cones, passing four of them to the boys who eagerly began enjoying their frozen treat.

"We have some great news!" Yoko said, smiling at the boys. "The adoption has been finalized! You three are legally our sons now!"

Yugo cheered, nearly dropping his ice cream from the cone. Fortunately he managed to save it, and went back to licking it. Yuto and Yuri were much calmer physically, but it was obvious that they were as excited as Yugo. Yuto hesitantly asked, "So does this mean we can call you guys Mom and Dad?"

"Of course!" Yoko replied, smiling warmly at him.

"You know, Yuya's always wanted a brother," Yusho chuckled. Yuya nodded happily. "And now I have three!"
