Lucian's face switched from pain to pure anger. Almost on command, a figure formed from the shadows of a nearby tree. The form seemed like it was unable to stabilize.
"Do you seek revenge on the ones who hurt her." The figure's voice was distorted, but deep and echoing.
"Y-yes. I do." Lucian looked up at the figure, his eyes as empty as Ava's.
"What do you want me to do." The figure asked. In a moment blinded by rage and grief, Lucian could only say one thing.
"Burn them all." his voice was void of emotions. The figure's form began to solidify, bones cracking as its foot hit the ground. Lucian turned his eyes back to Ava, refusing to let go of her. By the time he looked back, the figure had formed into a demonic creature. Its skin looked like burnt flesh, horns curling and pointing to the sky. Chains were wrapped around its wrists, broken at the bottom, like he'd ripped out of the rest of them.
"Thank you for freeing me, Darkmore. I'll do as you wish." The Demon smirked as it walked straight towards the school. Lucian moved his eyes back to Ava's body, tears continuing to fall down his face. He used his finger to gently shut her eyelids, stroking her cheek. He laid her down and stood up, turning towards the school. He saw a cloud of smoke filling the air, realizing what hell he'd let loose.
He got up quickly, darting straight towards the school entrance and running inside. The smoke was creeping into his lungs, violent coughs jumping out of his throat. He tried to push through, sprinting up the stairs. Fire was burning everywhere, he looked around, seeing students, teachers and parents lying on the floor. Most of their skin was missing, their bodies reaching out. They died afraid. Lucian pushed forwards, moving through the flames, trying to find the monster he unleashed.
He reached the school hall, the demon sitting on the edge of the stage. It smirked, laughing as Lucian approached.
"Here, I burnt him." The demon tossed a head towards Lucian's feet, a chunk burnt out of his face, his eyes filled with endless fear.
"I didn't want this... There were innocent people, children and you killed them all!" Lucian snapped.
"You told me to burn them all. This is all on you." The demon rolled its empty, obsidian eyes.
"Go back to where you came from. I mean it..." Lucian coughed, the smoke scratching the back of his throat.
"Once I've collected the last souls, then I will. Pretty sure your mother is one of them." The demon grinned, serrated teeth lining its mouth. Lucian's mother appeared, facing him with her back to the demon.
"God... Please let her go, I made a mistake, I take it back." Lucian begged, falling to his knees.
"You see Lucian. Before I kill you, let me tell you something. I escaped Hell. I only had the strength to kill one person. I needed someone to free me. I watched how angry you got when the boy hurt... Ava I think her name was. It was perfect." The demon taunted.
"You... You killed her?" Lucian stammered
"I killed your girlfriend, I killed everyone here, each death making me stronger. Nobody can stop me. None of the Gods will step from their palaces to intervene, and it's all thanks to you." The demon laughed, grabbing Lucian's mother by the neck and leg. He pulled hard, ripping her in half. Lucian screamed in pain, his mother's blood painting his face.
"Oh boohoo. I might be claiming their souls but these deaths," the demon laughed, "these deaths are on you."
Lucian felt something primal overtake him. He stood up, his hands shaking.
"You took... everything from me." tears streamed down his face. All the demon did was continue to laugh, scoffing at Lucian.
"Lucem invoco, da mihi vim quam postulo." a voice left Lucian's mouth, but it wasn't his own. The demon paused.
"How did you-" The demon began, but he was interrupted by a roar of anger from Lucian. Lucian raised his right hand, glowing with a powerful type of magic. Lucian twisted his hand upwards and towards himself, the demon freezing in place.
"What... WHAT ARE YOU DOING BOY, LET ME GO!" the demon screeched. Lucian's eyes glowed the same bright light emitting from his hands. He clenched his fist hard, the light turning purple as the demon screamed in pain one last time before chains shot out of the ground, dragging him into the darkness. Lucian exhaled, collapsing from exhaustion.
