Hikaru and Kaoru had accidentally woken up early, and requested that instead of waiting at their empty, boring house, they came to school before everyone else. The twins had believed that their friend Haruhi would have joined them in arriving to the Academy earlier, but that didn't seem to be the case. When Kaoru first entered the unlocked room - followed by his twin - he noticed that instead of Haruhi, the (Hair Color) girl was in her seat, furiously scribbling down notes and studying to catch up to the class. Kaoru walked over to Hikaru's seat, but he continued to study the girl's features, unknown by her.

Hikaru walked straight to Kaoru's seat, his mouth curved downwards as he saw (Name) writing down in a different type of kanji than he had seen before. Although he didn't care about it very much, Hikaru figured it was simply a different dialect than what the students at Ouran spoke. The elder twin sat down, looking over at (Name) with an unusual concoction of emotions. A mixture of anger, superiority, and possibly pity, however Hikaru could not tell himself. He snickered bitterly, catching the attention of (Name). Hikaru saw that she looked startled, undoubtedly because of the sudden break in her quiet, alone space. "Hey new girl, you know I saved you right?" Hikaru picked on the girl. "You should reward me."

(Name) gently placed down her pencil, moving her hands to neatly organize her notes. "I see no reason to reward someone who is lying about helping me," (Name) spoke softly, but her voice echoed in each twin's ear like a broken record. Her (Eye Color) eyes shifted to Kaoru on the other side of the row. "He was the one that helped me, not you."

"You're lying!" Hikaru burst out, pointing to himself as he pushed further. "It was me, not him!" Kaoru's eyes nervously darted to his twin, almost to communicate to him that he needed to take a breath and calm down. Hikaru did not receive his brother's desperate message, as he was too busy being stubborn about this situation.

(Name) furrowed her eyebrows. "I feel that it would be nothing beneficial to lie to you, especially if I were to make you an enemy on my second day of class." She looked up at Hikaru, and the elder twin sat down slowly, eyes locking onto the board dangerously.

Kaoru's kind golden eyes met with (Name)'s very puzzled (Eye Color) ones. She looked like she was asking him what was wrong with his twin, and in return, Kaoru shrugged. The younger twin lost eye contact with (Name) after that, as she went back to studying. The younger twin sighed quietly, feeling uncomfortable with the tense atmosphere, as more students began to pile in.

The mundane bell began to ring, the same tune over and over, alerting the students in the Academy that the day was beginning. Being the third day of school, and a Wednesday, the twins have more time to mess around with their friends, but mostly Tamaki, the King of the Host Club. Kaoru and Hikaru smiled a bit, looking at Haruhi as she was entering the crowded classroom. Her presence seemed to lift the tension against the twin's and (Name). Haruhi looked confused, as she merely asked "What are you guys looking at me like that for?" and the twin's began to laugh. Even if the twin's didn't see it, (Name) had cracked a small smile of her own.

A few hours into the class, the same ringing tone of the dismissal bell rang, cueing the next teacher for class. Rushing in was a simple middle-aged man wearing a business suit. He placed down his briefcase and smiled to the class. "Alright," Sensei tried to be enthusiastic, only affecting some, but Kaoru only seemed to become even more jaded. Hikaru was at least a bit excited, as this was one of his favorite subjects. "For your first real class on the simplicity of Algebra Two, we'll begin with more complex parabolas." The teacher explained, walking over to the chalkboard, quickly making a graphing chart and numbering the coordinates respectively among the x and y axis. He then wrote an algebraic equation on the bottom. "Can anyone take a guess in graphing this equation?"

Hikaru's eyes lit up, seeing a perfectly good challenge in front of him. Among himself, a few others raised their hands bravely, hoping to be called on. Kaoru looked at (Name) from besides Haruhi and questioned her nervous expression. Hikaru's eyes were glued to the teacher, silently begging that it would be he that is chosen. The teacher's eyes however, did not meet the Hitachiin's, but (Last Name)'s instead. "Miss (Last Name), would you please attempt to solve this problem?"

Hikaru's already vivid hatred for the girl grew from jealousy. He was the one that could solve it, not her. The eldest twin scoffed, looking at the nervous girl get up. If she was so intent on studying, why is she nervous? He didn't care at all, Hikaru just wanted to prove he was better.

(Name)'s (Skin Color) fingers grabbed the chalk, looking at the problem again before taking a deep breath in and beginning to sketch out a "U" shape on the graph. She stepped back to let the teacher examine her work. Once she saw his sad smile, (Name) bowed her head apologetically. "I'm sorry sensei, I haven't been prepared for this, we skipped Algebra Two at Rakuzan High." (Name) seemed to be really embarrassed, which made Hikaru feel sickly joyful, and Kaoru to pity, yet enjoy her blush. The younger twin covered up his thought by adding that all females look cute when they blush.

"I see." The teacher nodded, and finally looked at Hikaru, mistaking him for Kaoru. "Kaoru, since you seem so ecstatic about doing this math problem, why don't you come help her out."

The twin walked up slowly, his hands in his pocket and signature smirk on his face, driving the females around him wild with their hormones. Hikaru nodded his head towards the teacher silently, taking the chalk from him. "Actually, I'm Hikaru." The twin corrected. The teacher looked apologetic, but Hikaru ignored it, and looked at (Name) instead. Hikaru rose an eyebrow at her stance. Stiff shoulders, clenched fists, wide eyes. He saw she was completely frozen in place from shock, and took it as an open opportunity to mess with the girl.

He leaned over her shoulder, his right hand free to correctly solve the equation and graph it correctly, while the other hand gently touched the soft, silky yellow fabric on the lower part of her back. Hikaru hid this action well, careful not to cause a ruckus among the classmates. His face was well near her neck, so close that by her subtle shiver, he knew his breath was hitting her. His golden eyes darted to her face as he continued working, seeing her crimson blush of embarrassment. The piercing eyes of his moved back to the board as he whispered so only she could hear. "I thought such a smart kid would know how to solve a simple equation and graph it," Hikaru taunted. "Especially someone that  managed to get into class 1-A, no matter of their social status." (Name) flinched at his words, her head lowering. "Whatever, it's not like you'd be accepted anyways." Hikaru finished, marking the last connecting line before straightening up and walking back to his seat, tossing the white chalk to the teacher.

The math teacher placed a hand on (Name)'s shoulder, consoling her and asking her to go back to her seat. With a visible sign that she was flustered and distraught at the moment, she slumped back into her cold seat, feeling embarrassed, and almost even depressed about what happened. She slowly took out her notes, writing down word for word.

Haruhi looked at the girl with pity in her eyes, then over to the smirking Hikaru. Her angry brown eyes glared holes through Hikaru. She might have even said something about his behavior, or act upon it, but she couldn't risk disrupting the class, so the brown haired protagonist felt mildly content with the harsh glare. Hikaru looked back at Haruhi, confused by her glare. Although he found victory in making the transfer student embarrassed, he had lost against Haruhi's intense glare.
