Emma's Bedroom:
Her alarm clock went off & Emma, now at th age of 14, groaned, turning it off
She woke up & yawned, stretching her arms
Emma: Ugh, I'm so tired..
Marinette: Kids, come downstairs for breakfast!
Emma: Coming, Mom!
She climbed out of bed & walked downstairs, but Hugo, now at the age of 12, pushed past his older sister
Emma: Oh, come on, Hugo! I wanted to get there first!
Hugo: No! I want pancakes first!
Louis: No, let me get pancakes first!
Louis, now at the age of 5, rushed down the stairs to catch up with his older siblings
Marinette: Okay, okay! One at a time, kids. Here you go, Emma.
Emma took the plate from her mother, sitting down at the table
Hugo & Louis sat down, as Marinette did the same
Marinette: So, are you all ready for your first day of school?
Louis: I'm really excited, Mommy! I can't wait to start preschool!
Hugo: And going to sixth grade will be lots of fun.
Marinette: That's good. What about you, Emma?
Emma ate her food & continued texting on her phone
Marinette: Uh, Emma? Sweetie?
Emma: Hmm? What did you say, Mom?
Marinette sighed & shook her head
Marinette: Emma, we agreed that you wouldn't use your phone at the table.
Emma: Sorry, but I'm texting Elaine. Me & her are going to be wearing matching outfits for school today!
Marinette: Oh, that's nice. But I'd appreciate it if you'd at least put your phone down & engage in the conversation with your brothers.
Emma: Okay, okay. Sorry.
She placed her phone down & sighed
Marinette: So, what are you mostly excited about since you'll be starting middle school?
