The reason I onetrick Julian is BECAUSE I hate forcing everyone else to adjust.
I've always wanted to onetrick a hero. Past two years I've spent hopping between heros, never going over 200 matches on any of them, adjusting for everything, and it was fun, but I felt like I never had the chance to "master" anything because I was always switching between whatever was meta, because I wasn't good enough to play any one hero once they fell out of meta. Plus I never really got that sense of achievement because I just had a bunch of intermediate titles, and the only 2 country titles I ever got prior were on Gloo and Esmeralda- both heros that could adjust to multiple lanes.
Julian, on the other hand, can effectively go just about any lane. I'll always show him early in draft pick if anyone wants to go down the list or if nobody wants up. If someone wants the lane I'm showing after I pick, I'll adjust in the order of Jg > Mid > Exp > Roam > Gold. By showing early I give my teammates more time to organize their own picks while I have 3 lanes I can perform very well in, 1 that works well situationally, and 1 lane I can manage in (I've only ever had to Julian gold once in rank actually and it was because our mm switched off last second)
There's been plenty of other heros that I would have enjoyed going all in onetrick style on if given the chance but I don't enjoy fighting for lanes and it's not worth the effort for me. With Julian, I never have to, and I absolutely love the hero so I'm having the time of my life. I genuinely want to push to global on him and I don't have to deal with adjusting all the time. Plus of course, I like his character and lore a lot and it keeps me interested in the vibe from playing him. Thank you for existing, my red haired GOAT 🙏
