TW: MENTIONS OF SU!CIDE

Today was the day I'd be going home. Guess Grandpa didn't want to say goodbye. Jokes on that guy I'm not going to talk to him unless I'm forced. Which I guess Is every time a person is sent to speak with him.

I got out of the apartment bed, I kind of hope this is the last time I have to sleep in one of these beds. I got into the one outfit in the closet labeled "Charity going home." It was a blue flowy dress. I put the dress on, then I brushed my hair. After that I brushed my teeth. It felt so good to use an actual toothbrush and toothpaste rather than a stick. I pt my hair in the iconic ponytail braid, because It's my favorite hairstyle.

While I was finishing getting ready, I was still in complete and total shock that I won the games. Out of everyone I won. I lost so many friends, yet I was the one who got out. I killed so many and I still got the gift of surviving. I mean sure I'm glad I did survive but I was still shocked, but so many we're lost in order for my victory. With my last kill, I went crazy. I was so mad I didn't let him have a peaceful death. I stabbed him over and over till he died. I feel like such a monster.

I walked out of the apartment and went to sit down with everyone for one last time, except this time one was missing, an important person was missing, one who would never come back. Ray Travis. I sat by Finnick, and I knew that he knew I was feeling guilt. I think he felt the same way after he won his games.

"How're you feeling?" Finnick whispered in my ear.

"Like a monster" I whispered back.

"You're not one, you know that right?"

"Did you see how I killed the boy from 12?" I asked.

"You're not a monster you were angry at him" Finnick looked at me.

I looked at Finnick and sunk my head inside his chest. He rubbed my back as we waited to be escorted to the train.

"Is everybody ready?" Terri asked.

Everyone nodded. We all got up and followed Terri out of the apartment. We then went into the elevator. This building was so weird without all the tributes walking through the halls and in the elevators. I'm so glad that the next time I'm in this building I'll be a mentor rather than a tribute. Terri then took us to the train where we all boarded. I walked in took a handful of fruit then went to the back room with the big window where you can see everything. I sat on the couch and ate the fruit I grabbed. Finnick followed shortly after me,

"Hey" he said sitting down by me.

"Hey."

"You, okay?" He asked.

"I'm glad I'm going home" I shoved a strawberry in my mouth.

"When we get home you better not go back to waving and the occasional hey again" he said as he grabbed a grape from my hand.

"Oh no never, you're stuck with me now" I smiled a bit.

"Glad to see your smile coming back." Finnick smiled as he nudged my shoulder.

I blushed and smiled more.

"Oh yeah" Finnick said.

"What?" I looked at him curiously.

"Remember that promise i made you before the games?" He asked.

"Uhh" I tried to think, then it hit me. "Oh!"
