Sunday
"I told you something like this would happen, Mr. Naoya." Jun says with a frown on his face. He contines, "At the very least you two didn't get harmed." Naoya nods his head in agreement, his expression still looking tired. "Yeah, I know. I just didn't think things would get to this point. It definitely wasn't ideal, but at least it didn't get any worse than it already did." He turns his head to Ms. Fujiwara. "We need to go to somewhere private where I can explain my past. If not everything, at least enough to make you guys understand why there are men after me. Even you, Jun. You think you know everything related to me but you do not." he says with confidence.
Ms. Fujiwara and Jun exchange a quick glance at each other, but neither one offers any resistance or opposition. "You're right," Jun says calmly, his tone still carrying some uncertainty and tension, but also showing some sense of understanding. "We don't know everything about your past. But if you think we need to know, then we can listen."
Ms. Fujiwara and Jun follow Naoya outside and sit with him on the benches, away from the police cameras so they cannot hear the conversation that's about to take place. "Alright, I would like to get straight into the point. First, I will tell Ms. Fujiwara about the part you already know." he says and turns his head to Ms. Fujiwara. "I currently have a bounty on my head that is five hundred million yen, dead or alive." he says bluntly. Ms. Fujiwara is taken a bit off guard by this sudden revelation. She never expected the sum of money to be quite so high, and she can't help but feel a bit surprised by the figure. She manages to maintain her composure though, and her tone and expression remain calm and collected as she responds. "Five hundred million yen," she repeats thoughtfully, taking a few moments to digest the information. "That's quite a substantial sum of money. May I ask who put out the bounty? Why are you being targeted exactly?" Naoya looks down, seemingly thinking what to say next. He decides to speak up, "I might have an idea about who would put such high bounty on my head. However, I cannot say for sure. About why I am being targeted, I am not supposed to alive." "You're not supposed to be alive?" Ms. Fujiwara repeats, her tone taking on a slightly concerned edge. "What do you mean by that?" she asks, wanting to understand the situation more clearly. Naoya looks down and appears to be thinking about what to say next.
"4 years ago, I got shot from my liver during one of my missions. The person who shot me didn't finish me off completely, thinking that would be enough since liver is fundamental for a human being to keep on living." "You were shot?" Ms. Fujiwara asks, her tone expressing her utter disbelief and confusion. "That's crazy," Jun interjects. "Why would someone shoot you and not finish the job? What kind of mission were you on?" "He was petty. He made sure I would've suffered a slow, painful death. My mission was assassination of a boss who was assumed to be alone in his room, drinking like there is no tomorrow." "So someone shot you with the intention of slowly, painfully killing you?" Ms. Fujiwara asks, her tone reflecting both disbelief and concern. Jun is also visibly surprised and appalled by this story, and he can't help but let out a small sound of disbelief. "Who would attempt to pull something like that off?" he asked. "The person who shot you, were they working for someone else? Or was it a personal vendetta?"
"I am hoping, hoping that son of a bitch is alive somewhere." "It's highly likely that he's still alive," Jun says and Ms. Fujiwara agrees. "If he intended for you to suffer like that, why didn't he make sure the job was done? Why leave you alive?" "That is the part I haven't understood all these years." he looks down going deep into thought once again. Ms. Fujiwara raises a question, "So, were you belonging to a gang back then? Or was your profession different?" she asks. Jun is surprised by this type of question and decides to ask her, "You know, before he answers that Ms. Fujiwara, I really would like to know how you are so nonchalant about hearing all of these and seeming to not care about it emotions wise at all?"
"For your question, Jun," Ms. Fujiwara responds calmly, "I am not necessarily nonchalant about hearing all of this and I do care about how it makes me feel. However, I am not as innocent as you think. While my past situations are not as extreme as Naoya, I lived through some things too." "I see." Jun responds, his tone carrying some understanding as he realizes that Ms. Fujiwara has some understanding and experiences on her own as well. "So you've also gone through some tough things in the past?" he asks gently, wanting to confirm if that is the right understanding. "I will tell If I feel like it, for now I want to listen to Naoya." Jun nods after hearing this. "Okay Mr. Naoya keep going." he says and Naoya nods continuing, "I was an ex-hitman. But I also had some connections across different gangs, as well as other hitmen who I would sometimes team up with for assignments where it would be advantageous for both of us. Speaking of other hitmen, I was a part of an organization named. "The Hitman Legion, short for THL" he adds, "Effectively controlling the industry, THL is the biggest hitmen organization in Japan." "The Hitman Legion, really?" Jun asks, his tone expressing a sense of surprise and amusement."I've heard of that organization. But I never thought you would be involved with something like that." his tone becoming curiously inquisitive. "I used to be above THL too. I was one of the members of Six Commandments." Naoya says. "Six Commandments?" Jun asks, his tone carrying a sense of confusion. "What are they exactly?" Ms. Fujiwara follows up.
"An elite organization of THL assassins known as the Six Commandments, as the name implies, keep the assassin world in order whenever conflict develops by handling anything that could cause problems for Japan's assassin industry if left unattended. With only a few members, Six Commandments is made up of the THL's most formidable assassins." Naoya explains plainly. "So they essentially serve as the most elite faction within the THL." Jun concludes as he listens to Naoya's explanation."And you used to be a part of it?" Ms. Fujiwara asks in a somewhat incredulous tone. "I used to lead it." Naoya says with a smile. "You actually used to lead it?" Ms. Fujiwara asks, her tone becoming increasingly curious and intrigued now. "How did you get to such a position of power?" Jun asks.
"By being the strongest."
