"Ryuddaeng!"

The raven haired girl looked up from her place on the front step of her house as her girlfriend cried out to her on the other side of the road. Surprised and flustered as she always was in her presence, she put down the book she was reading, waving back.

"Hey, Yeddeong!" She yelled out, getting up as she adjusted her pants. "How's it going?"

Yeji ran over, nearly stumbling as she reached Ryujin, whose face grew red as she placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I just had an idea for a way we can spend time together!" She announced, Ryujin smiling brightly in response.

"Really?" She asked, already thinking of what could be in store. "What kind of idea?"

Yeji adjusted herself beside her girlfriend in a way that reminded Ryujin of a cat, lying on her side. Yeji always sat in the oddest ways.

"So, I was thinking we'd cook together, like we usually do, right?" She began, Ryujin's eyes lighting up in interest and excitement. She always enjoyed cooking when she wasn't studying. She jumped up, her hair swishing as she stood.

"Yeah, let's-"

"But wait!"

Ryujin found herself being stopped by Yeji raising her hand, prompting her to sit back down.

"This time, I want to be the one to cook! And not only that, I want to do it on my own this time!"

Ryujin found herself struck by surprise at the request, deciding to do a double take. She had never assumed Yeji was the cooking type, excluding the occasional help she gave.

"You wanna cook? On your own? Why?"

Yeji gave a little giggle, using a finger to boop her girlfriend's nose in the process.

"Wanna test my skills! Besides, I wouldn't miss the opportunity to impress a famous cook, would I?"

Ryujin found herself flustered by the gesture, shaking her head a bit as she scratched the back of her neck.

"I'm not famous, but..." She bit her lip, which glistened with lip gloss that she had attempted to apply earlier (Not being much of an expert with makeup herself, unlike her girlfriend). "I guess...I guess I could let you try?"

"Yay!" Yeji cried, picking her girlfriend up awkwardly, despite being much shorter than her. "You won't regret this, I promise!"

As she ran into the house's open door, faster than a cat, Ryujin couldn't resist but to feel a sense of dread as she followed.

***

"Yeji, are you sure this is a good idea?"

Ryujin adjusted her fluffy dark ponytail as Yeji hummed a little over the stove, turning it up to full heat.

"It'll be alright, hon." She stated, confidence in her voice. "I'm sure we can cook quicker this way! After all, turning up the heat never hurt anyone, did it?"

Ryujin had been reluctant to allow her girlfriend control of the kitchen. Sure, she wasn't untrusting of her in the slightest, but she didn't know if Yeji would have the control over the situation that she would've liked her to.

She wasn't a cook, after all, and never had striven to be one in all 19 years of her life.

"Don't be so tense, Ryujin." Yeji gave a playful scold to her girlfriend as she proceeded to pick up each ingredient one by one. "I'm sure this won't result in any mishaps. Remember Spaghetti Night? I did great helping you out, didn't I?"

Ryujin opened her mouth before closing it. She chose not to remember that night.

"But, Yeji, cooking can be complicated..." She spoke softly as Yeji flipped her curtain of long dark brown hair over her shoulder, humming softly.

Ryujin sighed as she helped Yeji to the best of her abilities, her anxiety rising along with the temperature as Yeji couldn't help but to rise it higher. She was thankful that Yuna and Chaeryeong were hanging out with one another, because even she knew how stressed out Chaeryeong got in response to extreme temperatures.

Ryujin had to admit that she herself was stressed out by Yeji's lack of competence in the kitchen, which was worsened by her throwing in the eggs with the shells on.

"Yeji, you don't do that!" Ryujin cried as Yeji poured the entire carton of milk in to the mixture over the stove. "It'll make the dough-"

"I know what I'm doing, Ryujin!" Yeji explained as she picked up the flour on the side of the stove, Ryujin trying to piece together what she was doing herself. "Come on, I've seen you cook many times before!"

Ryujin sighed, looking away, unaware of in the time period that she had looked away, Yeji had emptied the entire flour bag.

All over the kitchen stove.

Yeji found her nose met with an unpleasant smell, slowly turning her head to see the flame at full blast.

Oh no.

Oh. No.

"Yeji!" She cried out in futile warning. "Don't-"

POW!

The mess of a mixture exploded everywhere, covering both girls and the kitchen, knocking them backwards as the egg, milk, and flour combination nearly drowned them (And Byulie, if she wasn't sitting on the top cabinet, watching all of this go down).

Both knew instantly that this lunch was a flop.

As Ryujin looked up from the mess, she couldn't help but to feel stunned by the condition the kitchen was in. How did her girlfriend make such a mess in such a short period of time? This was almost unreal.

As she turned around to face Yeji (whose long brown hair was caked with various ingredients mixed in with the dough), her girlfriend gave a giggle, shrugging her shoulders.

"I'm not the best, I'll say that now." She admitted, putting a hand on her hip. "Well, at least we didn't let Byulie cook, did we?"

Ryujin smiled, unable to stay mad at her girlfriend as she embraced her, laughing along despite the dough being everywhere even as they kissed, Yeji's lipstick mixing with Ryujin's now smudged lip gloss as their flour covered noses touched awkwardly.

They'd clean it up, just not right now.
