Once he was back in his room, he changed out of his uniform. He glanced over at the mirror. Should he give up being a hero? It's not like the dream was his own. His father decided before he was even born that he would be a hero. Then again, he did want to surpass his father. Show him that he could make his own way. But would people accept him with his scar?
He walked into the bathroom and stared at his reflection. He slowly lifted his hand up, to cover his scar. He could almost imagine for a moment, that it wasn't there. However, as soon as he removed the hand, he was back to reality.
He rested his hands on either side of the sink. There really wasn't anything he could do.
Wait... he looked back up at the mirror. There was something...
This was so stupid...
Shoto found himself standing outside of Yaoyorozu's room. In the 3-minute walk, it had taken for him to get here from his own dorm, he had already lost his nerve.
He had probably been standing there for about ten minutes before he finally decided to go back to his own room. Of course, that was the exact moment that Uraraka decided to open the door.
"Todoroki! Didn't expect to see you here. Did you need something?" She smiled.
"Oh um..." he glanced away. "It... was nothing. Never mind. Enjoy your sleepover."
He was about to leave when Mina popped her head out, "Is that Todoroki?"
"Come on in!" they all beckoned, as she dragged him inside.
And that's how he found himself sitting stiffly on Yaoyorozu's bed, watching the girls apply makeup to each other while in their pajamas.
"Um... I'm sorry to intrude..." he muttered quietly.
"We're happy to have you." Tsu smiled.
"Of all the boys, you're our favorite." Hagakure giggled.
"I'm what?" he sputtered.
"Most of the boys are all right," Yayorozu replied.
"Except for Mineta and Kaminari." Jiro said with a glare.
"But you're the most respectful one." Tsu finished. "You've never said anything about any of us. And you stand up for us when Mineta is being gross."
"Thank you, Todoroki." They all gave him a quick bow.
"Oh uh... it's nothing..." this is not how he expected this conversation to go.
"So, did you come here to ask us something?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Um..." he watched Uraraka apply some makeup to Jiro's cheeks. "Could you..."
They all sat patiently as he tried to formulate his question. It was clear he was really struggling with something.
"Could you... do that?" he pointed at the sponge in her hand.
"Foundation?" Uraraka asked, and he nodded. "Do what with it?"
He tried to speak, but he was already getting choked up, so he just pointed at his scar. It took them all a second to figure out what he was asking.
"You'd... like us to... put makeup on your scar...?" Mina asked quietly and he gave her a somber nod, looking down at the floor.
The girls all shared a glance before Yaoyorozu took a seat next to him on the bed. "Todoroki... where is this coming from?" He looked down.
