When he didn't say a word and just moved past me, what seemed in hindsight like a ridiculous thought creeped in. Maybe he was trying to help me. Maybe he'd seen that I was at a clear disadvantage and wanted to give me a chance to escape. Kindness wasn't common in the Underground, but it wasn't fully absent either.

-"Thank you." I said in a half whisper, unsure of how stupid that was. I was basically admitting my weakness to him, but considering how strong everyone claimed he was, that was a bit of a token.

-"I didn't kick him out for you. I need that guy alive and I saw your stance, you wanted to kill him and he was too fucking clueless to notice."

Yeah, not sure I can do that man. Hitting people was a thing, killing them was a whole different story. A story I defintely wasn't eager to become a part of.

So I just sat there, twirling the knife in my fingers. I thought I was pressing, but there was no blood on the blade, whilst the cut on my neck was definitely pretty deep. I didn't actually do any damage to the guy, so maybe it was a good thing Levi intervened before Rhodes realized that I wanted to stop his lineage right there. He would've probably beaten the shit out of me.

Yay.

I slowly gathered myself and hid the watch in the pocket of my pants, out of sight. Albeit a little too late, because its glimmer and the clatter it made seemed to catch Levi's attention.

-"'Tis his?" He asked, his eyes fixed on it like he noticed something I couldn't see.

-"Um... Kind of."

-"What kind of fucking answer is that?"

Well someone's quick to get on their high horses, but I wasn't about to cause more trouble.

-"I work at a repair shop and he brought it in, but now that he refused to pay, I guess we get to keep it."

He didn't say anything in response and just turned around, laying a towel down and then putting his duffel bag on it. Fair enough. Those benches were pretty dusty.

I took out my phone and sent Eren a quick message to come and get me. In no way was I coming out of this place alone when Rhodes could be roaming around, and that Levi guy didn't seem like he'd escort me out if I asked.

-"That applied to you too. Get out."

Ugh- Was this day never going to end?

-"Sorry, I'm waiting for someone. I don't want to go out alone." I answered, half cursing myself for apologizing when all I was doing was existing within a five meters radius of him.

Half excepting him to tell me he didn't care, I was surprised when all that ensued was another click of the tongue and another deafening silence. Well, he didn't exactly offer to go with me but at least he'd let me stay. A win was a win.

Keeping my back to him, I heard the fabric shuffling as he was probably changing back into clean clothes, and flashbacks of his fight from earlier came running. The preciseness of his blows, the deadliness of his punches, the venom in his hits. It was all so brutal and violent, yet so methodical and clinical.

I dared a look in his direction, and even from behind, I could tell that that guy was really strong. Whilst his height might have made him seem a little less imposing, his muscles made up for it. Still, I wouldn't have expected him to be responsible for the mess that took place in the Pit a few minutes ago. But I had to give it to hom, He captivated all the attention of the room.

Not that there was much else to look at.

So I just sat there, eyes scanning the walls for cracks and dents. I would've gladly scrolled on my phone or passed time in another manner, but my senses were still on alert. That Rhodes guy could be anywhere. He might have even been waiting for me right outside the door, and my current company wasn't exactly the most pleasant.
