Hello all! My Masters has finally finished, leaving me free to write again! After much deliberation, I decided that I'm going to use the rest of this year to finish out "Fallen Not Forgotten" and start "To the far Reaches" back in Jan of 2025. Admittedly, this story isn't turning out at all like I want, but I'm determined to at least finish it as a "rough" draft. Sloppiness and all. That said, this book (and "Commander, Meet the Cat") are now considered non-canon in the Adventures!AU storyline. The general premise of them are still canon (meeting Cody and saving Domino) but the exact storyline will be changed and a new version posted for both in the early 2030s. That's right, I'm settling in for the long haul lol. If I'm lucky I may finish this series before 2050!

After TtFR ends in 2027, I'll move on to Book 4 in the series (Welcome to War Games) which will carry through from 2028-2029. The long hinted at Tintin fic, Anachronism, will be posted in its entirety in 2030, with a break year following that. The new version of "Commander, Meet the Cat" will post in 2032. Assuming, of course, that I don't have a burnout crash again. But that is the current plan as of May 2024.

Alrighty! Announcements are done, let's get this show on the road! Chapters 15 and 16 are coming in (hopefully) early June.

As soon as there was solid ground beneath our feet and the rocky walls of the tunnel properly manifested, Trevor grinned and said, "Alright! Nap time!"

Fives and I watched as Trevor let go of our hands and immediately flopped to the floor, finding a makeshift pillow in the form of a flat rock.

Fives cleared his throat and pointed at the now sleeping godling. "That's...?"

"Normal," I replied with a shake of my head, crossing my arms as I looked down at Trevor and nudged him with a foot. "Don't question it."

"Right." He looked around. "Which way, Shadow?"

I copied him, looking back and forth between the two directions. Would have been nice if Trevor had told us before he passed out, but I knew better than to be picky with his gifts. Like an eldritch god or something, it was better to accept what you were given rather than ask for more and risk going mad.

Lifting my muzzle, I sniffed the air for any sign that could indicate our next path. Behind me came the woodsy scent of pines and sharp scent of freshly fallen snow, while from behind Fives came the acrid scent of ozone and freshly churned space-dust. Dirt from living planets was warm and musty, while dirt from barren moons such as Rishi carried a hint of ozone but also smelled a little bit like a gas stove.

How we were able to breathe on such a world devoid of oxygen producing plants was beyond me, but it probably had the same explanation as a lot of things in Star Wars.

Space magic.

I pointed behind Fives. "That way." When he started forward, I laid a hand on his shoulder and pulled him to a stop. "Better let me go first, Gateway Thresholds are tough to navigate if you don't know what to expect."

"A what?" Fives asked, but nevertheless let me take the lead.

Beckoning him forward with my tail, I scooped up some pebbles and occasionally tossed one in front of me. "It's the term I use for the specific point where two passages of the Network connect. The name is self-explanatory, as it's the threshold to the gateway, aka portal."

"And why is it tough to navigate if you don't know about it?"

One of the rocks responded for me as I threw it, suddenly halting mid-air as gravity disappeared for a stretch of tunnel.
