chapter 31 : Hope Andrea Mikaelson

Near New Orleans, 

Amelia 

The car parks in front of the old plantation which was also our home. The car does not have time to park and I do not have time to get out of the car as Hayley opens the door at full speed and rushes out of the car. She runs as fast as she can towards Elijah who holds in her arms the little hope that has grown well since the last time I saw him. I shy forward to the group accompanied by Klaus who stays on the reserve as if he was impressed and this is the first time I see him like that. Hayley takes the girl in her arms and holds her as if her life depended on it. She holds it against her chest and squeezes it against her to feel the warmth of her child that she has not known for a long time because of this curse that fell on the Mikaelson family. I shyly get out of the car and I can see the smile on Hayley's face and at the same time I see klaus away and I can see that he is waiting for my reaction. I approach him and put my hand on his arm.

- I'm fine I say

I felt his arm shrink under his hand and tears beaded at the corner of his eyes.

I walk away a little then after about ten minutes Hayley joins me in retreat and asks me if I want to carry the little, So I accept and I take this baby in my arms then I go around the property while telling her that she has a sister who watches over her from up there and that I would let nothing happen to her. Hope gives me smiles and more smiles which makes me smile myself. I bring her back when I see suddenly, Rebekah building a kind of wooden tipi so I approach and I do not have time to ask what happens that Klaus tells us that a long time ago his aunt dahlia cursed his family and the deal is that the first born of every generation comes back to him, so that's why my daughter passed away and we're mad at Hope now. I finally ask Rebekah what she makes then she tells me that in fact they have a tradition in the family, write a wish and burn it in the bonfire. Klaus seems against the idea but I support with Hayley the fact that traditions respect it. So he takes Hope in his arms and goes away while everyone takes a piece of paper to write his vows. I sit at the table while Hayley goes out to talk to Elijah. I write my vows then I crumple the paper and I put it in my back pocket then I decide to go see Klaus.

- You should write your vows

- I am busy with my daughter Amelia

I believe that he does not realize the pain that his sentence to cause in me.

"Sorry," he said.

- It's nothing but write your vows

Hayley joins us then and I wish him good luck because when Klaus decided that he would not do something it is complicated to change his mind.

I go out of the house and I sit on the wooden staircase and I take out a cigarette that I wedge between my lips and that I light. I hear steps behind me yet I do not hide from smoking after all I am no longer pregnant. Elijah sits next to me but he doesn't say anything, he just looks at me.

- Yes I am broken I say without thinking

He doesn't say anything.

- Your family killed my child and yes I blame you

He's still not saying anything.

- I would have preferred to die in childbirth rather than be reborn as a vampire

We are interrupted by the rest of the family going out. We all gather around the bonfire and we throw our wishes one by one, Rebekah leaves the house with an old camera all proud of her find. She wants us to take a picture. Klaus starts moaning.

- Oh bloody hell

- Oh crap not a picture I say

- Come on guys it's the first family picture says Hayley

- I'm not a part of this family my daughter died I say

Everyone turns to me so I step back and let them take a picture. They all watch it together and Klaus intervenes by saying that we will have to burn it because we cannot take the risk of endangering Hope. So Hayley furiously throws her into the fire and I almost think I see tears in the corner of her eyes. I leave the small family to go to my room and once the door closed I stick my back to the door and I fall in tears. I take out my phone to call Davina.

- Hi sweetie are you okay she says

- No

- What's going on?

- I want to be pregnant again

- What

- I want another baby Davina I need this

- Calm down Amelia you are not thinking straight

- I just I just want my little girl

The conversation continues before Davina hangs up and I go to bed but trying to fall asleep I hear noises, moans, oh my god Hayley and Elijah. I feel like I'm gonna sleep well.
