Chapter 3
School is over and I'm home alone. My phone rings. Oh please don't be my parents yelling at me about getting into a fight! I answer. "Hello?" I hear what sounds like a girl crying. "Is this Baeley?" She asks faintly. "Um yeah. Who is this?" I ask. "Thank you for telling those bullies to back off." The girl hangs up. I go through my phone and call the same number back. A boy picks up. "Hello." He says. "Um who is this?" I ask. "This is Jake. Who is this?" He asks. "This is Baeley and a girl just called me from this number. Why?" I ask. "Oh that was Gracie. She wanted to thank you for saving her from those bullies." Jake tells me. "Um okay. Is she doing alright?" I sit down. "She's doing okay." He says. "That's good. Can I talk to her?" I ask. I hear a faint call. Gracie!! "Hello." She says. " oh hi this is Baeley from school." I tell her. "Ya I know I called you earlier but what do you want?" She asks. "Um. I wanted to ask if you wanted to sit with me and my friend Taylor at lunch tomorrow?"I ask. "Sure!" She sounds happy.
