SLUMBER PARTY
KIBERLY POV:
I was having the time of my life at my own slumber party, surrounded by my girls Davi, T, and Nadia. We had spent the evening getting ready, painting our nails, and trying out different hairstyles. Davi had brought her famous homemade cookies, and we devoured them while gossiping and laughing.
After our snack, we decided to have a mini dance party. T put on her favorite playlist, and we danced around the living room, singing along to the lyrics. Nadia even busted out some impressive moves, showing off her skills. I was having so much fun, feeling carefree and silly with my friends.
As we danced, Aidonia's name kept popping up on my phone. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn't help sneaking glances at the screen. I couldn't stop smiling as I scrolled through our messages. He was flirting with me, and I was loving every minute of it.
Finally, we collapsed on the couch, exhausted from our dance party. "Movie time!" T announced, holding up the remote control. We all cheered and settled in for a night of movies and gossip.
But just as we were about to start the movie, my phone flashed again.
Davi noticed first, her eyes narrowing as she watched me. "Who's making you smile like that?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
T and Nadia turned around, their eyes fixed on my phone. I looked up, still smiling, and quickly locked my screen, holding the phone to my chest. "Nobody," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
The girls all burst out laughing, but Nadia's eyes lingered on my face, a hint of tension in her gaze. I didn't notice, too caught up in the moment.
T's curiosity got the better of her. She jumped up and snatched the phone from my grasp, holding it out of reach. I leapt up, trying to grab it back, but T was too tall. She held the phone aloft, taunting me as I tried to jump high enough to grab it. Nadia snatched the phone from T's hand, her eyes scanning the screen. "Oooo, Aidonia wants to know when you're free to meet up!" she read out.
My face flushed as I grabbed the phone back from Nadia, my eyes scanning the message.
T raised an eyebrow. "You're really getting close to him, aren't you?" she asked, her voice full of intrigue.
I nodded, feeling a thrill run through me. "Yeah, we're just talking about...stuff."
Davi's eyes lit up. Ohh "That's so cool! You're actually talking to a famous artist!" She laughs
But Nadia's expression was more skeptical. "Be careful, Kimberly. You don't know what he's really like."
I rolled my eyes. "I can handle it, Nadia. Besides, Aidonia seems really nice."
T chimed in, "And he's so cute! I can't believe you're actually talking to him!"
I blushed, feeling a little embarrassed. "Yeah, well...I guess I just got lucky."
The girls all giggled, and we settled in to watch the movie.
As we watched the movie, I remembered I hadn't responded back to Aidonia yet. I took my phone out and went to his chat. I typed "idk" and waited for his response. I saw him typing, and my heart started racing. I turned my phone down and put it on silent. He then responded, "Are you free Saturday?"
I hesitated for a moment, then responded back, "Yes."
He suggested that we go to Plat du Jour, and I replied, "I've never heard of that, but okay. Where is it?"
He said, "Portmore."
I said, "Okay."
He then asked if he should pick me up or if I would drive. I thought for a moment and then responded, "I'll drive."
In my mind, I thought, "I don't want it to be awkward, so yeah, I'll drive." I didn't want to rely on him for a ride, and I wanted to have my own transportation in case things didn't go as planned.
He then replied to me saying "Ama drive, ok?" I reacted to it with a thumbs up and then locked my phone and went back to watching the movie but it was literally close to ending we all decided to call it a night and get some rest.
