~~Storybrooke~~

I don't know how I get myself into these situations...

Scratch that, I know exactly how.

Sometimes I just hand life the ammo to take me down, vainly hoping that'll it'll use it to shoot down my problems instead.

It never does though.

I knew I'd regret following Emma and the sheriff out of the building when the pay from Granny was less than I was banking on, but who could blame me? Something was different about Emma, I was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I felt like if I hung around her long enough then I would understand my fucked up life a little more.

Although judging by the fact that she's being arrested again, I don't think this logic of mine is to be trusted.

Definitely not.

I'm trying it anyways.

When did I get so nosy? This isn't a game, she's literally having her mugshots taken right now.

"Tilt your head up and narrow your eyes, it'll make you look more badass."

The two adults shot me a look, one amused and one irritated.

"I really don't need everyone's mugshots to look like yours Ava." Graham sighed, fiddling with the cameras settings. Emma rose a brow when I scoffed. "Oh please, that was one time! And the charges got dropped before you even finished taking my photos. If I can't have badass mug shots then I at least have to help someone else have some good ones." He shook his head, causing me to grin as I sat on the edge of one of the desks.

"And speaking of someone else's mugshots... The shrinks gotta be lying."

Emma nodded, "Exactly! You know he's lying, right?" She said, directing her words to the sheriff.

"To the right, please. Why would he lie?"

"The Mayor put him up to this.. she's gotta have something on him. He's terrified of her, like everyone else in this town."

I tilted my head as I heard a car pull in, looking over my shoulder to see a 80s Jeep Grand Wagoneer park next to the sheriffs. My brows furrowed when I saw a familiar elementary school teacher step out of the car. I vaguely heard Graham tell Emma that Regina wouldn't go as far as a frame job, causing me to huff a quiet laugh as I stood, turning to face the window.

"How far would she go? What does she have her hands in?"

My jaw dropped when I saw one of the mayors kids get out of the car, quickly turning to face the adults. "Um, Emma-"

"Well, she's the Mayor. She has her hands in everything."

"Sheriff Graham-"

"Including the police force?"

I choked, what the hell did I miss?

"HEY!"

The three of us whipped around to face the entryway, gaping at the boy. "Henry! Henry, what are you doing here?" Graham spoke, asking the question that we were all wondering. Quick footsteps followed behind him, and I eyed the woman confusedly. "His mother told him what happened." Mary Margaret sighed, her eyes catching on mine. "Ava! What are you doing here? What happened to your uniform?"

I blinked, looking down at my (now dry) mud stained clothes. "Oh.. Oh, just an accident from this morning. Mrs Rowena wasn't happy about it, gave me detention since I didn't have any suitable clothing, in her opinion, to change into." I shrugged.

"Of course she did!" Emma bursted, causing the teacher and I to tune back in. "Henry, I don't know what she said—"

"You're a genius!"
