BRUTAL OBESSION

Chapter 3

" Is okay" That's how I have been whispering repeatedly  while stroking his hair as he weeps more on my shirt. Telling me how his dad thought of him as a failure even with all his accomplishments his daddy still looks down on him.

I just don't know  how to console him more than how I am consoling him now. I have never felt an absence of a parent or me being a discouragement to them, I am not saying my life was perfect because life has taught me a lot these past two years.

After twenty minutes of tears and encouragement, I struggled on helping him to the lobby to ask help from the Security.

"Hello please can you help me with Tristan?" I called an old man who I spotted when I entered the lobby. The man hurried to the left side and shifted most of Tristan weight on him.

"Hey, what happen to Mr Maddox?"

" I don't know too what I just know is that I met Tristan on the cliff drinking and venting out his sorrows" The old man directed us too an office on the fifth floor. It was a hell of a job for me since we could not use the elevator because of the power supply was out, we used the long staircase which already got my legs to ache more.

"Mr Maddox is a hardworking guy and nice person if not for him that offered me a job here has a driver I would still be jobless"

"What do you mean by nice man" I asked curiously as we dropped Tristain on a bed in the office room. Money is actually good, For an office to have a well furnished room and kitchen that means lot of money has been spent on this place even with the interior designing is a Wow.

"He offered me a job with me being an illetrate, I will forever be grateful to him. I am Mr Abe and the driver of Mr Maddox" He offered his hand for a shake.

" I am Ariel and just new here as a marketer." I took his hand for a shake.

"Sorry to be busybody but do you have a connection with Mr Maddox or are you anywhere related to him?"

"No why do you ask" If only Mr Abe knows my history with the man on the bed and how is also involved on my life changer he will keep the questions to himself.
"You called him by his first name" he pointed out my mistakes.

" Does that mean anything" I asked while helping Tristain to remove his shoes and socks so that he will sleep comfortable.

" Mr Tristan is the owner of this King's  enterprise so how can you a Markerter start calling him by his first name. You did not even repeat it once but also more than twice that made me keep on wondering what connections you have with him."

"That was the name he introduced to him on the cliff" I lied while ignoring his insult.

"Excuse me. I will be on my way now" After glancing once more at Tristan I nodded to Mr Abe.
" I am sorry Miss Ariel and thanks for your help." I turned back and smiled at him.

" Have a goodnight." I closed the office door and headed out.

The annoying Fowl my neighbour bought calling it a pet is annoying, Just 6 am it has started crowing disturbing my peaceful sleep. It is only useful during work days but not now.
"Ugh! My head hurts" I opened the drawer beside the bed to take painkillers without water. The headache apparently came from me tossing all night you cannot blame after seeing the man who changed my life and to top it most to discover is the arrogant boss John was warning me about.
"Hey sleepy head. Get up is time to make breakfast I can't make breakfast alone while you lazily sleep on the bed." My best friend and roommate shouted. Yes you are right  cara is now staying with me so that the house rent she can now keep it to add more for her mother's medication and hospitals bills.
"You can not do without seeing my face if that you were into girls I would have concluded that you were obsessed with my sexy body" I said while lazily dragging my feet to the kitchen.

" Good morning, I will just ignored the sexy part. I can't be cooking as a maid while you will come and eat my hard work without any help." She said while cutting  the washed carrots.

"That's why you are my best friend so it should be a great joy that I am enjoying your food and complementing you and you know that I am a queen that should not be stressed" I adjusted myself well on the barstool beside the kitchen island.

"Queen my ass! Help me to slice this vegetables" She passed the vegetables with tray and knife

"So that means when I cook alone I should not add yours to what I am cooking?"I cocked my eyebrow at her.

"That's your cup of tea but for me I am not a good Samaritan"

"Remind me why you are my best friend again."  I shook my head while laughing.

"That remind me when I came back from work you were not back and I thought you said that you will be home first before me?"

"I went back to get my phone I carelessly left it in my office drawers"

"You should have left a note which would have made me not to worry about you. Please next time try to leave a note for me"

"Awnn now I remember why you are my best friend the love you have for me is too unconditional" I got up and hugged her from the back while she wrestled to come out from my hold. Cara is not the cuddle person so she always avoid anything that comes with hugging.

"That's okay. Go get yourself a boyfriend that you will cuddle with" I punched her playfully on her hand.

"Ouch that hurts silly I am saying the truth when last have you had sex. Oh I remember two years ago. Ariel you are still young and beautiful every guy will want you."

"Okay that enough of the preaching I have heard you, I will try. Happy now?" I poured the vegetables on the egg that is on the oil pan on the gas.

"Yeah. A guy called yesterday asking for your welfare"

"Are you getting back at me with your joke?" I playfully twitch my eyes at her.

"I am serious I too was shocked when I heard it too. He claims he is John and you guys are co workers in the marketing team." Shit it's true I even saw his text messages and missed call but it was late that's why i did not bother to call him.

"He is just a friend so don't start thinking otherwise. I will message him later"

After her nodding her head we fell into a peaceful silent while we  continue making the breakfast. I set the table and prepared our coffee while she dished out our meal. Ever since Cara moved here things are being easy for me in the sense of cooking, cleaning and even laundering.

"I met Tristan yesterday." I told her when we sat down and started eating.

"You are kidding me right" She answered after the shocked cough that erupted from her after the news.

"I am serious he is my new boss and the owner of King's Enterprise."

"Wow you are lucky bitch you got yourself to spend a night stand with a billonare if that I were you I will make sure with all my powers to entice him"

"He must not know about Kyra or else he may use the opportunity to file custody and take my child away from him." Cara took my hands in hers and squeezed assuring.

"Hey everything is going to workout perfectly just pretend as if you don't know him okay. Or have you guys talked or does he recognize you?"

"Lucky for me he was drunk so he did not notice me. I will just avoid crossing path with him"

"I support that idea. Finish your breakfast so that we will go and visit my mum or do you have another plan today."

"Nope we are still on visiting your mum"I smiled at her and make sure to finish my food early.
