"Abe kahan khoyi hai?" Anjoli's voice snapped me out of my reverie.
"Huh?" I blinked looking at the two curios faces, staring at me with a keen interest. "Mere muh pe kuchh laga hai?" I pointed at my face.
"No." Anjoli frowned, assessing my face.
"Toh aise kyun ghoor rahe ho dono mujhe?" I scowled at them.
"Maine aur isne tera naam kitni baar bulaya." Aman looked at me pointedly. I chewed on a lettuce that had squeezed out of my burger. "Wahan khade Pradeep Uncle bhi kitni baar baar mud mud ke dekh chuke hain. Dekh, abhi bhi dekh rahein hai." He pointed behind me outside the cafeteria's glass window.
"Exaggerate mat kar." Pradeep Uncle, the security guard, literally stood a good 200 metre from the cafeteria building. "Dekh rahein honge ki kaun aadmi hai jiski bandar jaisi shakal hai."
Aman barked out a fake-laugh before glaring at me. Anjoli however was looking at me with narrowed eyes. "Be serious. What happened?"
I looked down at my half-eaten burger with upturned lips. "Nothing. I just don't like burger." Which was true. I hated how messy eating one burger can get.
"Anchal!"
"Oh, isn't that Aryan?" I pointed out behind her at the man on the counter.
Both heads turned over their shoulders instinctively. Anjoli turned around and snorted. "Geez, subah se avoid kar rahi thi. Yahin dikh gaya, gadha." She mumbled, sipping on her Banana-Fig smoothie. Ew.
Aryan was a douchebag and my friend deserved someone way better than him. I had only met him three times and I could confidently say, he was a true piece of misogynist shit. I wondered why Anjoli even dated him. The guy looks hot as hell, but even that couldn't make up for his shitty personality.
Aryan's eyes accidentally met mine and I rolled them before looking away.
"Guys." Aman muttered staring at his phone. "Bahl just texted. Townhall announced."
"What?" I furrowed by brows in confusion, picking up my own phone.
"Yup!" He nodded, frowning at the message. "Better wrap this up and check out. Okay, see you, Anjoli." He have her a side hug before standing up.
I too stood up after wishing Anjoli and joined Aman on the elevator. Everyone was scattered around the cubicles near the executive suite. The space was big enough to accomodate all the employees of tech department. I needed tea before I could process anything else, so I went to the tea machine in pantry.
