Cat Born Difficult —  The orange cat had been driven to despair by its no longer handsome face.

Lisa sighed in lament after Mr. Kim’s statement and looked down at the orange cat in his arms again. The orange cat seemed to not have recovered from the painful loss of its whiskers yet, acting completely dispirited and downcast.

“I saw online that cats use their whiskers to measure things. Without whiskers, they cannot judge distance accurately and will frequently be stuck or fall onto their faces. Is this true?” Looking at its lost-all-interest-in-life appearance, Lisa felt that this theory was somewhat true.

Mingyu had also heard a theory that said a cat without whiskers could not catch prey. He smoothed down the cat’s fur and said, “Before his whiskers grow back, he can stay at my place.”

Lisa complained to him, “I also feed this cat, so why should it stay at your place?”

Having previously seen the cat’s lack of aggression to her, Mingyu had also surmised that she might be one of the feeding masters. “When do you feed it every day?”

“9:00PM. When I come back for work, it lies down on its stomach in front of Building 3, waiting for me!”

Mingyu stated, “Then you can come feed it every night at 9:00PM.”

…Why?!

Lisa, not relenting, argued, “Giving this orange cat to a perverted straight guy like you to feed, heaven knows what you will do to it.”

Mingyu’s temple throbbed twice. Tu—tu— “How exactly am I a pervert?”

“Ah, aren’t you a pervert? You have even seen my underwear!”

Ding—

The elevator doors just happened to open at this time. Standing inside was the young married woman living next door to Lisa, an awkward expression on her face as she looked at them.

Lisa: “…”

Mingyu: “…”

Ultimately, the young married woman squeezed out a smile first. “Mr. Kim, Miss Manoban, good morning.”

“Good morning, haha…” Lisa also followed suit with a forced smile.

The other party vacated the elevator with lightning speed. Mingyu and Lisa also entered the elevator before the doors closed.

As if nothing had happened.

The two of them were quiet for a moment before Mingyu opened his mouth. “Then let’s allow the orange cat to choose where to go.”

He set the orange cat on the ground and said to it, “Go to whoever you want to live with.”

The orange cat, having lost all interest in life, sprawled motionlessly on the floor for quite a long time. It seemed that by losing its whiskers, all meaning in its cat life had vanished. As they neared the 18th floor, it finally mewled weakly and without strength as it shifted over towards Mingyu.

Lisa: “…”

She raised her head to glare at Mingyu. “How much money did you spend on cat food to feed it?”

Mingyu: “…”

He lifted up the orange cat and hugged it as he answered, “I have never raised a cat before, so I have no understanding of cat food. Thus, I straightforwardly bought the most expensive brands.”
