the minute her brother messy brown bush that he called "hair" had slipped out of sight, she slid out of her packed compartment and made her way slowly back to the one with the older slytherin boys in it, making sure to avoid other students eyes as they gawped at her from their compartments.

when she got to the last carriage she slid open the door and slipped inside.

Theo and Draco turned their heads to look at her, the carriage now had new occupants In it, including a small girl with jet black hair cropped just above her chin, she had piercing blue eyes and a rather sharp face, she's looked at her with a questioning expression, she almost looked annoyed, and perchance...a look of disgust?
She sat next to Draco she had just been leaning on him before Y/N walked in, just across from her was a tall, dark skinned boy, he too had a sharp, cold face, he scanned her up and down, looked at Theo then Draco, and smirked slightly.

Theo stared at her and spoke

"Well you didn't mention you were saint potters sister"

his tone was almost cold, Draco didn't look at her, and the short girl looked at her snuggly.

her face dropped.

"The fact that Harry Potter is my brother isn't actually my only acquiring trait, nor does it define me."

she didn't know what to do with herself, as the mass of older slytherin students sat and stared at her, everything she did felt now judged upon.

"I'm sorry about my brother-I...well, he cares about me, I'm all he has left, he was just trying to take care of me-I-I'm sorry"

her voice cracked, she felt herself growing hot as tears weld up in her eyes, god this was humiliating, her head was pounding.

Before anyone else had the chance to speak she spun round and practically ran out of the compartment, she could here the he dark haired girls shrill cold laugh down the corridor, and a tear dropped down her face.

she skidded back into her empty compartment and slammed the door, she threw herself on to the seat and hurried her face into her hands, she let out a low sob.

great, just great. She hadn't even made it to Hogwarts and she already had a group who hated her.

She lifted her head and stared out the window, as wild Scottish scenery flew by her, the sky slowly descending into darkness, stars reflecting onto a large lake.

the door behind slid open, she whipped her head around to see who had waltzed into her compartment.

It was Draco Malfoy.

He stared at her wet eyes and red nose from crying, her messy black, that had been tousled from stress.

"Hey..."

He said, his voice low and cautious, as if she was a ravished animal, cold and a scared.

He took a deep breath before he spoke next...

"Look-...I'm really sorry for earlier, it's just your brother. well he's not ever been especially nice to us, and the death eaters stuff isn't true, we aren't death eaters, our parents where, we are n- just don't think of us like that."

He said that as if it was almost painful for him to do so

He looked down at his shoes, Merlin they looked expensive.

"Do you want to sit with us before we arrive at Hogwarts?"

she looked up at him with her glassy eyes..

"No, it's okay, don't worry about it, I don't think my presence was very welcome.."

he laughed slightly, a pink tint adorning his pale almost stone like face, it suited him, she thought.

"Sorry..- that's just pansy...she's like that with anyone, don't take it personally, she's protective of the people she loves-I-...that's just how she is"

she fiddled with the hem of her school skirt, she struggled to push the next words out

"So she's your girlfriend then?"

Her voice cracked, god...why did it do that? she didn't care?

His face dropped and any pink that had lingered faded faster then remaining sunlight behind her, leaving the compartment with an eerie, somber feeling, as if all air had been sucked out.

"No. no- we aren't together, we haven't been for a while."

She nodded. And he looked at her blankly, he took two long strides and swooped down next to her, yet before he sat, he stared at her directly in the eye

"May I?"

He did not even blink, neither did she, staring in his beautiful grey eyes, like a storm, with hints of blue, as if it was cloudy, and hiding beautiful skies behind it, she nodded slowly.

He sat down next to her, breaking the eye contact, and his knee bumped into hers, she moved her eye quickly, as if knee touching was such a high level of intimacy and a promiscuous act.

Why on earth would he want to sit here? why couldn't he piss off and go sit next to his mates...

and the door slides open once again, she doesn't even bother to look, her eyes fixed to the dark scenery flashing out her misty window.

Theo's voice, so loud is almost deafening against the silence that had filled the compartment moments ago.

Theo sat himself directly across from Draco, and launched himself into a very enthusiastic re-telling of a fight that had apparently taken place while Draco had been talking to her.

Theo didn't talk nor look at her, he didn't  question Draco on why they sat so close, or why there knees where touching, or to why, when her eyes got heavy, and the sound of heavy rain hitting the window, and the sound of the train travelling the tracks made her feel tired, when the warmth of the compartment started engulfing her, and the noise of there conversation started sounded like nonsense, and she felt herself losing the power to remain conscious, as her head dropped onto his shoulder and her body lay on the side of his.
