It was the morning of September the 1st, Y/N and her older brother Harry where standing on platform 9 3/4.

Harry was looking around for Ron and Hermione  with Y/N was standing close to him, staring at the magnificent Hogwarts Express which would soon be taking her for her first ever year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

I wonder what house I'll be put in...what if I'm put in Slytherin? I suppose I don't really min-

"Are you excited?"

said Harry, which had interrupted her train of thoughts. He had a habit doing that...she rolled her eyes.

"I guess...can I sit with you and Ron on the train?"

she asked Harry, almost pleading to her older brother, she had never really had very many friends, even at school, she was weird and awkward, non of the other girls really wanted to be friends with her...she was different. She would rather play football with the boys and she would often sit with them at lunch, but as she got older being friends with boys became "weird" and frowned upon amongst her peers, so...she became a social reject. Until her brother got his Hogwarts letter three years ago on his 11th birthday and every holiday since she would visit the Weasley's. The Wesley's where a pleasant family to be around, being such a big family, there was never really a dull moment, she found herself constantly busy, either helping Mrs Weasley in the the kitchen, or taking care of the animals however her favourite thing to do she found out, was flying and playing quidditch with the rest of the Weasley children and her brother, and just like her brother, she was great at it. She loved spending the holidays with the Weasley's, she finally felt like she belonged somewhere and they where like the family she never had and ever since a growing desperation to attend Hogwarts rose within her, she could be a witch, like her brother and go to Hogwarts with the Weasleys; she could even be on the quidditch team, yet...there was a possibility she couldn't go, after all, she didn't have a letter, until august this year, on her 11th birthday when she got her letter...bursting with enthusiasm she couldn't wait to finally attended Hogwarts.

"uh-...sorry y/n, Hermione and Ron got allocated to be prefects this year- they get to sit in prefect carriage and I was invited since I'm quidditch captain, I promised I'd come...why don't you sit with Ginny?"

She glared at her older brother, he knew perfectly well that she didn't like Ginny, yet he was still persistent that they start a friendship ever since he had started going out with her in the summer

She rolled her eyes and growled

"You know how I feel about her"

He frowned

"Y/N she's really nice, she likes quidditch, I'm sure you guys would be great frie-"

"Harry!"

They both turned to see both Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Weasleys walked towards them, flaming red hair and bags in hand.

She watched as the platform started to fill with students anticipating their return to Hogwarts, friends reuniting after a long summer apart, family's bidding farewell to their kids before they depart for school.

Before she knew it Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the Weasleys where all boarding the Hogwarts Express, she followed closely behind them as she hauled her heavy trunk onto the train.

Harry turned to look at her

"Try find some other first years to sit next too, don't get yourself into any trouble, I'll see you at the sorting"

She mumbled in agreement as he turned his back and walked off.

she walked through the crowded train trying to find a compartment to sit in, however, everywhere was full, she groaned.

She kept walking till she finally found an empty compartment at the very back of the train, it was completely empty, except for an older boy, he was tall, thin, with white blonde hair, he was staring outside the window with a book propped open on his lap.

Surely he wouldn't mind if I join him in the compartment...plus it didn't look like he was waiting on anyone else, the train was about to leave and she need someone where to sit, so she walked in, yet he didn't turn to look at her. she grabbed her trunk and put it on the overhead compartment, she sat down and let out a deep sigh of relief.

When she looked over at the boy again, she realised he was staring at her.

He had a pale face, and rather beautiful grey eyes, he was definitely older than her, possibly her brothers year, he look at her with certain curiosity, as if she was a math problem that he was rather interested in solving. They stared at each for about the better part of thirty seconds before she heard the door of there compartment slide open.
