Something Truly New

Chapter 2

We pull up to the fairgrounds. There's so many cars here already. I look towards the dash board I read 6:45pm. I guess everybody's looking for a good parking spot. We park next to a nice black Toyota Corolla. We all get out and go in.
"Do you want a wristband Kat?"
"A what?" I ask very confused.
"A wristband to get unlimited rides. Their only 20 dollars," Chloe says "Dang you really need to get out more often."
After we get our wristbands we walk around for about an hour. Looking at all the little Booths and tents set up. There's a really cute tent with the cutest jewelry ever. But I only brought 35 dollars and i already spent 20 of it. And I am definitely getting a funnel cake and fresh squeezed lemonade before I leave.
"Hey let's go ride the Zipper." Josh yells over the loud music playing. Chloe looks at me with a 'pretty please cherry on top' look.
"Okay" I say acting very excited. Although I could careless about riding the snipper or whatever it was called. When we get in line, we wait for about 30 minutes until we're at the front. Chloe and josh get on crap. What do I do now I don't have another person to ride with me.
"Who you with?" The man running the ride asks me.
"Um I don't know I can just.."
"Hey I need a person who doesn't have a partner up here" the man yells before I can finish. When I turn around I see Myles Rockwell coming up here. Oh my god I have had a crush on him since freshman year. Yay now I get to embarrass myself.
"Hey" Myles says with a half smile.
"Um hey" I say back trying to hide the fact that I'm blushing extremely hard.
"Okay get on you two" the man Yells at me and Myles. We get in and buckle up then he locks our door.
"Are you okay?" Myles says as he takes my hand. I didn't even notice but I was shaking like crazy and I couldn't tell whether it was because I was about to go upside on a very sketchy ride. Or that I'm sitting beside Myles. I mean we're extremely close.
"Oh yeah I'm fine sorry just a little nervous. I'm not big on fair rides." I say staring at his hand holding mine.
"Yeah me either" He says squeezing my hand even tighter.

"Hey we didn't die" Myles says unbuckling our seatbelt with his right hand.
"That's very true" I say still looking at his left hand holding mine. The man running the ride unlocks our door. Still not letting go of my hand Myles gets out of the cart. I follow him to the exit gate. I look around for Chloe and Josh not Seeing either one of them.
"Who are you looking for?"
"Oh um my friend and her boyfriend" I say finally spotting them. Chloe spots me and gives me a 'you go girl' look. Oh my god I hope Myles doesn't see that. But he does I look at him and he has a little smile on his face.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry for her" I say still staring at his beautiful smiling face.
"Hey don't apologize. So like wanna go ride the Ferris wheel with me?" Myles says as we walk towards Chloe and Josh.
"Um yeah sure" I say with a little bit of a gasp as he interlocks our fingers.
"Hey who's your new boyfriend Kat?" Chloe says. Oh my god I'm going to kill her.
"He's not my.."
"Hey I'm Myles"
"And we're going to go ride the Ferris wheel bye Chloe I'll see you later" I say as I pull Myles away from my about to be dead best friend.
"Hey sorry about her." I say as we get in line for the Ferris wheel.
"No it's okay I wouldn't mind being your boyfriend"
"What?" Did he really just say that.
"Yeah I mean if we get to know each other of course." He says.
"Well you at least have to take me on three dates before I'll even think about it." I say trying to play hard to get.
"Well does this count as date number one?"
"Only if you win me a stuffed animal."
"Done" he says. We sit down in the little cart, still holding hands. He looks me in the eyes.

"Hey where are you call me back when you get this please. Kat" I say as I hang up the phone. Myles and I have been looking for Chloe and Josh for 30minutes and we still can't find them.
"Do you need a ride Kat? I have a car I can take you home." Myles says.
"Um I Don't know maybe. I don't want to cause to any trouble." I say giving him a kind of desperate look.
"Hey no, I need to know where you live anyways for our second date." Myles says while handing me his jacket.
"Oh thank you"

We get out the car in front of my house.
"Thank you for this cute little stuffed dog and for taking me home"
"Thank you for making my night" Myles says. He kisses my forehead.
"I'll see you later" I say right before I go inside.
