Something Truly New

Chapter 6

We walk into Jack's M&Ms. It's an old store that has a bunch of old music and old movies. It's my absolute favorite store. I come here whenever I feel sad, happy, whatever mood I'm in.
"Okay so I know this isn't an ideal place for a date but let me explain"
"Okay" Myles says looking down at me.
"Okay so this is one of my favorite places to go. I know wow I'm weird but I thought you would like because you like the movie The Breakfast Club. And that's an older movie so I assumed that you like older movies and you also said that The Beatles were okay. So I assumed you would like this store as well. Okay so what we're gonna do is get two movies a piece. And then we're going to go back to my house and watch old movie and eat food and cuddle if that's okay with you." I say so fast I'm not sure if I even understand a word I just said.
"That sounds perfect and you assumed right. I do love old movies and I do think that The Beatles are okay"

I look up to check on Myles. He's all the way on the other side of the store. Obviously in deep thought on which movies he wants.
I decide to go with Pretty in Pink and Dirty Dancing. They might be a bit girly but oh well. I walk over towards Myles.
"Hey I got my two!" I say holding them both up in the air.
"Me too" he holds his and shows two movies. One is U-571 and the other one is Sling Blade.
"Okay let's go check out!" I say walking toward the cashier.
"Hey Max what's up!" I say to Max, I forgot he works on Wednesdays.
"Just working" he says looking over to Myles. He has a very surprised look on his face. Max know about my crush on Myles since freshman year.
"I though you were on vacation with everybody?" I asked now that I think about their not suppose to be back until tomorrow night.
"Oh I didn't go with them this year" he says looking down. He said something under his breath but I could quite make it out.
"Oh. Anyways this is Myles. And Myles this is Max." They both say high to each and do a weird head nod.

We pull into my drive way. The clock on the dashboard read 5:33pm. We get out and go into the living room. I set down the movies on coffee table and walk into the kitchen. Myles is walking behind me looking at the wall as we past pictures of me, my mom and my sister and Blake.
"Hey will you do me a huge favor?" I ask Myles.
"Of course."
"Will you go upstairs and get my blanket off my bed and pillows and take them into the living room? I'll get the food and drinks."
"Yes and do you mind if I use your bathroom while I'm up there?
"No I don't mind, there's one in my bedroom."
"Okay thank you" he says as he walks away and goes upstairs.
I open the fridge and grab two cokes. I place them on the island and go over to the pantry. I grab a packet of popcorn, Oreos, a bag of skittles, and cool ranch Doritos. I put the popcorn in the microwave. I grab my phone and call Pizza Hut and order a large pepperoni pizza. While I'm waiting for the popcorn to be done I take the drinks, candy, cookies, and chips in to the living room.Myles is sitting in here already with the blanket and pillows. I put everything on the coffee table beside the movies
"Thank you! Can you do me one more favor?" I ask Myles as he walks over to grabbing my hands.
"Of course dear" he says, then kisses me on the forehead.
"Can you pull out the bed that's in the couch. It should already have a clean fitted sheet on it. And could you also put the blanket and pillows on it?"
"Yes ma'am"
I walk back into the kitchen and grab the popcorn. I put the popcorn in a big bowl. I take the bowl into the living room. Myles is already under the blanket with everything on the bed and spot cleared for me. The door bell rings I jump at the dinging. Myles gives me a 'who is that' look.
"Pizza guy"
I walk to the front door and open it.
"$12.56"
I hand him the money and take the pizza.
"Thank you"
I shut the door and go back into the living room. I place the pizza on the bed. Myles smiles at me and I nod my head giving him permission to start eating. I go over to the movies and decide to close my eyes and pick a movie out. Without looking I hold it up so that Myles can see it.
"Dirty Dancing" he says aloud.
I put the movie in and grab the tv and DVD remote. Finally I sit down on the pull out couch bed. I make myself comfortable beside Myles and grab a piece of pizza. We eat and watch dirty dancing in complete silence.

"Well that was a pretty good movie!" Myles says looking down at me. In the middle of the movie Myles and I laid down and he wrapped his arms around me.
"Wait you've never see Dirty Dancing?!" I sit straight up and look at him.
"Nope but I have now" he says smiling at me.
"Okay well I'm going up stairs to put something comfy on. Your turn to pick out a movie? And do you have a curfew?"
"Okay and no I do not have a curfew. My parents are out of town. Speaking of parents are we home alone?"
"Yeah my step dads on a business trip and my moms out of town with a few friends. But don't be getting any ideas."
I say as I get out of bed and go up stairs. I walk into my room and shut the door. I walk over to my dresser and grab a big t-shirt and a pair of comfy shorts. It's looks like I don't have any pants on, oh well. I grab a hair tie and throw my hair up into a messy bun and take off my make up. I go back down stairs. Myles is now shirtless and he looks up at me.
"Do you have pants on?"
"Yes I have shorts on" I say laughing. I lift up my shirt to give him proof that I have shorts on. I climb into bed and get under the covers. Myles wraps his arms around me.
"What movie did you pick?" I ask him.
"It's a surprise." He says, then kisses me on the top of my head. When the movies starts playing I instantly know what movie he picked.
"Pretty in Pink huh?"
"Yes ma'am" he says smiling.
