Something Truly New

Chapter 7

I open my eyes, and look around. I'm in my living room and I'm in someone's arms. Oh crap, I must have fell asleep while we were watching Pretty in Pink. I look up at Myles, he's smiling down at me. The TV is no longer on. I really hope I didn't ruin this date.

"Did I fall asleep?" I quietly ask Myles.
"Yes, but don't worry you didn't do anything weird in your sleep. And I did not rape you. However it was quite hard not to." Myles started laughing.
"Oh my god! Myles!!!!" I say as I slap him on the shoulder.

I sit up, Myles does as well. He still has his shirt off. I just want to touch his chest. But I'm not because we've only been talking for Almost three weeks.

I grab my phone from under my pillow. There's one text and one missed call. It's already 10:25. I really hope he doesn't have to go. I open up my messages the text was from Chloe.

Chloe: hey girly! I should be home at 10 am. I'll be over at 12:30, I think me and Josh are going to finally do it!! ;) I'm so excited. Well I'll see you tomorrow!! Oh my date #3??? With who?? Omg why didn't you tell me about date 1 and 2?! Anyways ttyl! Love you!!

I forgot to tell Chloe bout me and Myles going out. I just didn't want to bug her while she's on vacation. And also I didn't want to jinx it. I look at my missed call. Mom called me at 9:45. Oh well I'll just call her back tomorrow.
"What time is it?" Myles asks me as he takes the cover off of him.
"It's 10:28. Do you have to leave?"
"No, unless you want me to go."
"No you can stay. Let's watch another movie. Which movie next?"
I stand up and walk over to the coffee table. There's three movies on the table; Dirty Dancing, Sling Blade, and U-571. I pick up the two we haven't watched yet.
"Which one you wanna watch? Sling Blade or U-571?" I ask Myles as I wave both DVDs in the air.
"It's your turn to pick"
"Okay"
I turn around and walk over to the DVD player. I put Pretty in Pink back in its case and put in U-571. I really like U-571. It's a movie during World WarII About a German submarine that is boarded by American soldiers in disguise. Their trying to capture their Enigma machine. It also has Matthew McConaughey in it when he was younger. He is one of my absolute favorite actors. Especially in the movie Magic Mike!

I walk over to the pull out bed. Myles is laying down under the blankets with his arms out. I get on the bed and lay down in his arms. He wraps them around me squeezing tight. But not too tight to where I can't breathe. Tight to where I feel completely safe.

"Which movie did you choose?" Myles asks
"It's a surprise" I say back to him.

I look over at the tv screen. It's on the movie's menu.

"U-571? Interesting choice"
"I like this movie. Why do you think that this is an interesting choice for me?" I ask as I give him a puzzle look.
"I don't know just seems like a movie that a girl wouldn't like."
"Well I like it" I say as I push play.

//The next day//

*DING DONG*

I open my eyes. The sun is shining through the curtains, straight into my eyes. Myles arms are still around me. I look up at his face. He opens his eyes and smiles down at me.
"Was that the doorbell?" I ask Myles as I grab my phone from underneath my pillow. Oh my god it's 12:42pm. That means that Chloe is the one at the door.
"Well good morning to you too. And yeah I think it was. What time is it?" Myles asks. He sits up and runs his fingers through his hair.

"Sorry good morning or evening whatever! It's 12:42pm! We must have fell asleep last night watching the movie. You can go shower upstairs if you want too. There should be some of my step dads clothes on that dryer in the laundry room on the other side of the kitchen. But there might be a t-shirt in my room in one of my dresser drawers. I'm gonna answer the door it's just my friend. We'll either be in the kitchen or in here. So you can just come down stairs when your done."
I say as I hurry and stand up. I throw my hair up into a better bun. Myles walks up stairs. I walk over to the door and open it.
"Hey oh my god!! I've missed you. How have you been? Did you just wake up?"
Chloe wraps her arms around my neck squeezing me into a tight hug.
"Oh yeah sorry. I must of lost track of time. I've missed you too!! You have to tell me all about your trip!"

We walk into the kitchen. I grab two cups. Chloe's grabs the orange juice from out of the refrigerator. I pour us Both a glass. We sit down on the stools at the kitchen island.

"So how are you!! Oh yeah and who are you going on a date with?? Was it Max?"
"I've been good! No it's not Max? "Where did that even come from? Max is like a brother! Oh and it Myles Rockwell!!" I say almost jumping out of my seat.
"Oh hey" I turn around to see Myles standing in the door way. His hair is wet from the shower.
