The village has started to come to life by the rising dawn in the mountains. The birds started singing their morning songs as the sun had started to come to view. As the sun had started to rise from the sky, the people of the small village had started to awakening and getting ready to start their day. The adults had started heading towards nearby stores or started heading towards their work. The teenagers had started working their morning jobs or meeting up with each other in their favorite hangout spots and enjoy each other's company. While the kids had started helping their parents, playing with their older siblings, or watching their older siblings excitedly.
But one could see that Shira was already awake before the sun had rise before anyone else was awake. When Shira looked up from the branches of her favorite tree, she soon saw something astonishing in the sky.
What was happening in the sky? Whatever it was, it was the stunning and amazing thing she'd ever seen in her whole entire life. She never seen anything like this before. It was so beautiful. She could count more hues and shades than in the box of paints and watercolors that she had bought a few years ago. Shades of sapphire, violet, magenta, amber, and gold shimmered and shined, like a giant rainbow had blanketed the sky and stretched out over the land.
It was barely morning, but the night stars continued to sparkle like diamonds. Despite the lightness of the dawning sky, the stars were so bright and clear like distant diamonds sparkling in the night sky. It seemed that the stars was sparkling to the rhythm of her heartbeat. A trio of stars had started disappearing in the north as dawn had continued rising. While the faint outline of the moon was in a pale circle of silver, glowing faintly in the dawning sky. As the sun started to rise, it had caught the colors of an blazing, aflame ember as it rise in the east.
Shira smiled as Henry and Mateo had joined her at her tree. The three of them started talking to each other and laughing at a their jokes. For the last few days, their friendships have started to grow over the last few days. They had many conversations with each other, and they started learning more each other everyday. In a way, those trips has been helpful the four of them sharpening their survival skills that Shira's father had taught them — how to navigate, how to camp, how to make a fire. They had learnt to ride horses and using the stars to guide them. Henry's mother, who's one of the church teachers, had told stories about the Heroes of the Bible; about the Christians and Catholics; about their struggles and history with others; about God and Jesus; and about the servants and messengers of God. She answered their questions with forthright honesty and spoke about all the past events, both good and bad. But Sasha was a little uncertain about such legendary events, though she started growing more faithful in God and Jesus.
She snapped out of her thoughts when she suddenly heard a ruckus of yelling and cheering, but she also heard the rough sounds of running and the kicking of a ball. Shira ignored the ruckus and continued the book in the branches of the tree. Shira looked up from her book to see the vacant field filled with kids and a pair of soccer nets. She counted about ten boys and girls of all ages running all over the field with a soccer ball being passed and forth between the kids.
"—Shira, what do you think?" Henry asked Shira.
"Pardon?" Shira looked at the boys with confusion evident in her eyes.
"If we play against the opposing team," Mateo explained to her. "Maybe Henry's brothers would be more friendly to him."
Shira's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at this and looked at Henry's older brothers, who were standing across the field. Over the next few days, Henry's five older brothers had started to calm down a bit and yet they're still jealous of Henry's dream interpretation skills and his sharp-wit intelligence. But showing how strong they are in soccer, they will probably raise their jealousy again.
Before Shira could reply to the two boys, a loud bonging coming from the church and startling everyone to look at the church. The bell is so loud, that half of the Valley could of heard the bell. It's only used for important announcements or the gathering of people.
Shira put her book away and jumped out of the tree to join the others into the church. Chris helped treat the injured people with his mom and Pastor Aaron. Joy started checking on the frightened children and cheering them up. Shira told many children biblical stories. Henry played with the younger kids while their parents recovered from their wounds. Ellie started giving food to the hungry people. Mateo started teaching the children how to play on some basic instruments. Lastly, Jia passed out some new and dry clothes to the people who lost their homes. Everyone else helped the townspeople from words of hope and encouragement to giving things that they needed and that has been lost during the flash flood. When they were taking a break from their volunteering with the homeless townsfolk, Shira caught sight of Henry having a fierce argument with Levi, Percy, Chase, Ryder, and Flynn. She swallowed nervously at the sight, she never really liked heated arguments like that.
Shira soon heard some footsteps and glanced over her shoulder to see five of her friends joining her side. Chris flinched at the sight of the argument while Joy and Ellie both exchanged a nervous look, and Mateo and Jia both grimaced at the sight of the argument between the brothers.
"What's going on with them?" Chris asked.
Shira shrugged her shoulders uncertainly. "Your guess is as good as mine. They were like this when I found them."
Henry and his older brothers each went to different directions. But Shira could see Henry walking towards their direction with a fierce, angry expression on his face. Shira, Chris, Joy, Mateo, Ellie, and Jia each stepped out of his way as he headed towards the tree. When Shira looked at Henry's older brothers, she cringed back at the sight of their angered jealousy on their faces.
"Yikes, that was scary to watch," remarked Jia.
"No kidding," Shira agreed.
"Jia!" called out a Japanese accented voice.
"Oh! That's my mom!" Jia smiled at them and started heading towards her. "I must take off now. See you soon!"
"See ya Jia!"
"See you soon!"
"Bye Jia!"
"Have fun Jia!"
Once Jia was picked up by his mother, the small group went to check up on Henry. Shira placed a hand on his shoulder, catching his attention and gave him a sympathetic smile.
"Are you okay mate?" Shira asked Henry.
"I wish." Henry sighed. "I didn't realize how jealous my older brothers were of me till now. It kind of hurts."
"Superbook!" Chris, Joy, Ellie, and Mateo had all exclaimed as a silver device floated in front of them.
"What?" Shira and Henry both looked at them curiously.
They each watched as the silver device went from glowing blue to bright gold with a floating, opening Bible.
"What in the world?" The six of them were lifted into the Bible and they were sent floating through a shimmering blue and purple tunnel.
But as soon as they had entered the blue and purple tunnel, warm flashes of lights went over the six of them. When it disappeared, the three boys (Chris, Mateo, and Henry) could be seen wearing pale tan and white tunics and pants. And the same thing happened to the girls, the three girls (Joy, Ellie, and Shira) could be seen wearing pale tan and white with braided belts around their waists. Joy and Ellie were both wearing white headdresses that's for servants or shepherdesses while Shira was wearing a simple tan headscarf on her head.
"What's going on?" cried out Henry.
"What's happening?" Shira asked them as she floated next to Chris.
"Superbook is taking us back in time," Chris told her. "It's perfectly safe."
Shira was uncertain and replied, "If you say so."
"I am taking you to see that forgiving your enemies can become the Lord's champions," said a deep voice with the time tunnel.
"What the—?" Shira looked around curiously.
"Who said that?!" Henry exclaimed.
But that's when a bright, white and yellow light engulfed them all at the end of the time tunnel.
