• she was a criminal justice lawyer previously, and one of her cases ended up getting her in with some pretty dangerous people where she somehow ends up falling for a guy, the defendant, who ended up basically kidnapping her after a meeting gone wrong with his own lawyer and she was taken in where she was experimented on similar to wolverine or bucky barnes had been, which gave her the abilities she gains in relation to her being a 'mutant'. she gets the ability of an ultrasonic scream, peak human condition, durability, speed, and healing abilities.
• she now works with and helps charles xavier at the academy. she teaches some despite not actually having any real form of credentials, she just is an experienced mutant, and wants to help out.
• logan calls her birdie, friendly and teasing at first but it remains when they become an actual couple, due to her x-men related alter ego of canary.
• her and logan have an ultimately complicated relationship when they met in the original x-men movie, but they become a couple following the film, and are together during the other films eventually getting married after the wolverine but before days of future past. they also have a daughter eventually, named beatrice, who ends up getting killed when she is very young (about three years old) due to being a mutant as she is her and logan's child.
