• celeste was born in port royal, and brought up properly there, until her father tried to push her into a completely unwanted arranged marriage which was when she ran away from home eventually falling into the whole pirate lifestyle and what followed.
• she became a pretty well-known female pirate after a while of being a part of this particular lifestyle which is how she ended up meeting jack sparrow. though they did not get along well at first since they both seem to be two sides of the same coin, and all, but in the end they fell madly in love. it was an intense love between the pair and they ended up attaching themselves to each other pretty quickly after all going on to eventually marry each other. this, of course, does not end well though as in the curse of the black pearl, they are still married, but separated due to jack essentially handing over the woman to barbossa for sake of the ship originally which complicates matters. that does not last long though given that she's a highly experienced female pirate by this point and is able to get out of it but they end up separated as a result of it all.
• in the first pirates movie, she is a captain to her own crew and has her own ship which is how she runs back into jack for the first time in years.
• she's incredibly tough and a very good fighter. she is also rather good with a sword as needed too.
• she has jack's hat with her in the curse of the black pearl, she took it from him before they ended up separated with the whole barbossa drama. so he finds it when she has it when they first reunite.
