Lila checked her phone again. She'd sent (Y/N) text after text last night, but he hadn't responded to a single one. Her phone buzzed. She rolled her eyes; Ryan had somehow managed to get her to join five different group chats, the last four missing one of the group. Then Jack talked her into joining a sixth chat, although she joined that one willingly. According to the contacts present on that chat, Ryan wasn't able to see it.

The message she received was on the chat without (Y/N)'s contact, from Jack. "Don't bother trying to get him to talk." She read. "He's not going to reply. Give him time and space and he'll get through it. Trust me, we know what to do." Lila nearly slammed her phone on her desk. "How did he find out?!"

Dennos, who had been munching on some of the fruit Lila had given him, shrugged. "Maybe Vorath saw it, and he told Snapp, who told his owner, who told everyone else, then replied." He answered. Lila clenched her fists. "I bet they have a group chat leaving me out." She muttered. Dennos burped a little. "It stands to reason."

Lila rubbed her temples. "I thought I told you that burping was against the rules. Not to mention gross." She said. Dennos shrugged again. "It just slipped out. Sorry. I'll try not to do it again." He replied, giving Lila the best baby-doll eyes he could.

Lila's annoyance melted away as she picked Dennos up gingerly. "You are somehow so cute despite being so terrifying-looking." She said as she tickled his stomach a little. Dennos smiled. "Appearances don't always dictate how you act."

Lila nodded absently as she gathered her things for school. Her mother was out early and wouldn't be back until late that evening. While it still made her upset to no end, having Dennos around, and occasionally, (Y/N), helped her considerably, as it gave her something else to focus on. She used to have a fish when she was little, but it died about two months after she got it. Lila knew Dennos wasn't a pet in the slightest, but having something to take care of filled her with a new kind of pride.

It also helped that he was a kwami who could grant her powers to put Ladybug back in her proper place, but that was a little further down on her itinerary.

"Dennos, don't let me forget that I need to cause a little chaos." Lila told her kwami. Dennos looked up from his fruit. "I thought you and that Marinette girl were on a truce." He replied.

Lila laughed lightly. "Oh, it doesn't involve her, Dennos. But if she gets caught in the crossfire... Well, boohoo, I'm sure it'll be so terrible."

"Well, don't forget, then." He replied. Lila rolled her eyes again. "I didn't mean right now." After a moment of consideration, she quickly sent a text to the group chat. About a minute later, Ryan responded. "(Y/N)'s pretty good at hiding when he's upset. I wouldn't worry about it." Lila read.

Dennos frowned. "I'd still keep an eye on him if I were you." He said. "Just to be on the safe side."

"I was gonna do that anyway." Lila replied, slinging her backpack over her shoulder and opening her jacket for Dennos to hide in. Once the kwami flew in, Lila made her way out of the apartment and to the school.

Lila got to the building early, before most of the students, and thankfully before most of the other Darks. She smirked internally. A few comments here, a false flag planted there, and Lila would be able to usurp leadership of the Darks from Alex. She stretched her arms and cracked her knuckles. Time to do what she did best. Hoping a few couples were already at school, she made her way through the threshold.

Marinette fumbled with her things, her thoughts buzzing in her head and kwamis buzzing around her. Tikki, thank goodness, was trying to keep some order, but it seemed to be a futile effort. After a strange dream - a villain getting into her room and rooting around, finding the Miracle Box in her present chest - she decided to build a new protective container, one that looked like a crafts supplies box. That effort had taken her almost all night, and she'd only managed to get an hour of sleep before her alarm woke her up.
