chapter 12

the night came and went, soon our coach was opening the blinds to wake us from our deep slumbers.

"I hope you all had a good nights rest! you're going to need it to power through playoffs. After you all wash up, meet me outside we're going to start this day off with a exercise before we eat." coach claps her hands before walking out of the classroom door.

tying my hair into a bun, I grab my change of clothes and basket of bathroom necessities and take off towards the girls wash room. finally feeling refreshed I make my way down the hall.

"Ah Goodmorning y/n." koushi walks out of the boys washroom wiping his face with a towel.

"goodmorning koushi! im heading outside for a morning warm up, coaches orders" i smile while feeling a light tint of pink reach my cheeks. thoughts of last nights events fill my mind and my lips slightly tingle as if i could still remember the feeling of his lips grazing mine.

"y/n? did you hear me?" koushi says while slightly laughing. his voice brings me back to reality as I shake my head.

"if you could wait for me so I can put my belongings away, ill walk with you. the boys are joining you guys outside as well" koushi repeats while giving a small smile.

" oh yes of course, I'll wait" I say while throwing my hands together pushing myself to lean on the wall.
koushi nods as he slightly jogs down the hall toward his classroom turned sleeping area. a trio of boys walk down the hall so I turn to look at them, only to find them staring at me as well. Hinata was one of the three and before I know it he comes rushing to meet me.

" gooodmorrnninnnnggg y/n! I hope you had a great sleeep!" Hinata waves with the cheekiest grin.

softly pushing him was tsukishima. " ah, no way y/n would have a good rest on those hard mats... morning" he says while passing by.

"well it is better than nothing right? Are you excited for today y/n? I'm so happy we're going out for a morning warmup to get us going!" Hinata says while stopping in front of me.

" yeah, I had a great rest, and I am super excited about play offs" i grin at Hinata.

"well let's go, what are you waiting for" hinata grabs my hand to lead me outside. I stop before he can take me too far.

" ah, im actually waiting for koushi, you can go on ahead hinata." I take my hand back while waving him off.

" oooo y/n and koushi are on first names basis now, who's gonna tell our lovely father that you're in love again" tadashi sings while looking back at me and hinata.

"shut up tadashi, someone is going to hear you" I can feel my face slowly heating up from my brothers tease.

tsukishima and tadashi laugh while walking further away while Hinata yells for them to wait for him. I fix my hair before turning back around to continue to wait for koushi.

koushi emerges from the classroom and lightly jogs to catch up. we make our way out the doors walking silently until koushi speaks. "  y/n? I've been meaning to ask you but would you like to go on a date with me once we get back?"

completely shocked i swallow hard before thinking of an answer. " what really? A date? sure, we should exchange phone numbers so we can plan." I could feel my face heating up and I swear it's not because of the sun throwing heat at us.

koushi laughs while bringing out his phone and before he gives me his phone he types something.

after punching in my number I hand his phone back and I hear michimiya call to us. " come on guys! we're waiting for you" while waving at us. we look at each other and slowly start walking faster til soon it became a race to get to the group.

soon our morning exercise came to an end and we were prepped and ready for our first playoff game. our coach informs us that we are playing a 4th placed team in the second pool, they didn't take a set from anyone so she assumed we should practice our quicks throughout the entire game.

we won both sets quickly and went on to semi finals. with that being said we had a couple games wait.
we made our climb to the finals and played against aoba johsai's girls team.

we finally reached the end of the tournament, unfortunately it was against aoba johsai which means there is a chance I'll be seeing oikawa amongst the crowd. Disrupting my thoughts was y/f/n.
"I am so tired, today was brutal. Can't wait to go home to my comfy bed." Y/f/n says while yawning.
"don't give up just yet, we're almost done! michimiya just went up for coin toss." I say while adjusting my shoes. we watch the boys team walk into the gym, koushi instantly locks eyes with me and smiles before mouthing the words " good luck!". I nod my head and get ready to set for warmups.
"beauty set y/n" I hear oikawa yell holding a sign with my number on it.
"he just does not want to stop doesn't he?" michimiya whispers showing a face of disgust. I awkwardly laugh before turning away from oikawas direction. soon the game starts and it was an intense game with points being tied throughout it all. we were three points away from winning the game when it was my turn to serve. the only thing that was on my mind is that I'd have to do the jump serve oikawa taught me because it spun in a crazy way, aces were the only way we'd push to the finish.

we won the game and were awarded with medals, the boys came down to the court so we could take photos for karasuno newspaper. koushi pulled me aside after and gave me a hug. " you did amazing as always y/n, should we take a photo to commemorate your first championship"

"thank you koushi, you played great this weekend too, and sure lets do it. let's ask chizuru to take the photo for us."  I smiled before waving down my teammate to take the photo.

koushi takes my waist and brings me closer to him, and I take that opportunity to lean my head on him before the photo was taken.

soon we were all piled onto the bus and we left nekoma highschool. I finally had the time to check my phone and I noticed I had text messages from an unknown number. The message included the photo me and koushi took and short message. "my new favourite photo of the most gorgeous girl 💛". I could feel the butterflies in my stomach as i look back to where koushi was sitting with daichi. I smile at him and wave my phone indicating i was happy with his message before shutting my phone off. drifting off to sleep and hoping I don't wake up to another camera flash going off in my face again.

hi hello knock knock is anyone there? lol jk... I started this fic in 2017🫣 and since then I lost my brainstorm for this story and now I have no idea where it's heading 😭 I hope it's still interesting...
