"That..should be good Professor.." Light said quietly, his voice almost completely drowned out by the blaring lightning from the machine, however the Professor could hear him, flicking the lever and ceasing the lightning.

Assistant Steve quickly freed the Rainbow Hero, Louis, from the machine, where he stumbled a bit but regained his footing after a second try. He walked over and took Cliff's side, who was making mocking faces in Light's direction.

Light walked over to the chest hooked up to the machine, lifting up the top of the container to reveal the glowing crystal that laid within. He picked it up into his hand.

He didn't feel a sense of pure, light energy coming from the prism, however he assumed that all crystals had to feel like that, right? Light remembered the shattered rainbow crystal he had in his possession, that still beeming with life, though faintly.

The orange splattered Steve placed the crystal back into the chest, closing it's lid and taking a deep breath, turning back around towards the other Steves in the room with him.

"Are we ready? We don't have all day you know." Professor Red was rather impatient, but for a good reason. Light was one of their strongest warriors, right behind Louis, and without his light energy, he was just a shy, weak Orange Steve.

"Don't you have to reverse the machine Professor? Do that first." Louis chimed in before Light could speak, silently motioning for Light to follow him, which he did.

The Professor rolled his eyes, walking towards the machine and starting to rewire it with Assistant Steve's help. Louis, Light and Cliff walked off into a separate room, where both Louis and Light collapsed against a wall, Cliff hopping up and sitting on a counter, his feet dangling.

"Light, I saw that look on your face. Was something wrong about the crystal?" Louis asked, looking over at Light, who had his knees pulled up to his chest, his arms folded over his legs. He was staring down at his thighs, not meeting Louis' eyes.

"Wahwah, if it doesn't work, I can keep bullying him." Cliff laughed through his sentence, snickering and looking over at Light, who buried his head into his knees.

"Cliff, shut up. Light.." Louis crawled over to Light, sitting on his knees infront of him. Cliff rolled his eyes, saying something about Light being a crybaby under his breath.

Louis placed his hands over Light's, giving him a soft look. Light finally looked up from his thighs, looking up at Louis. There was a light gray color coming from his eyes, Louis concerned as to what it was.

"Light..?" The Rainbow hero moved one of his hands up, wiping away whatever the liquid was coming from his friend's eyes. Light sniffled, leaning his cheek against Louis' hand.

Cliff heard Light faint sniffle, a deep pain erupting in his chest for making him cry, but he didn't have the courage to apologize for that. He made a mental note to back off of him a bit.

"Louis, that crystal didn't have energy to it, it just felt like a cold, hollow shell.." The orange splattered Steve whispered quietly, his eyes finally meeting Louis', who's own eyes were glazed over with worry.

"Maybe that's just the Light Crystal's thing..? It is just white light refrained out of my rainbow energy.." Louis whispered back, rubbing Light's cheek softly and pulling the shy Steve into a hug, which he graciously acceped, nodding his head to Louis' idea.

"Or maybe you're just weak haha." Cliff joked, trying to brighten the mood with his normal jokey self. Louis shot him a look but didn't say anything, which was enough of a sign saying that he didn't make a wrong comment.

The three sat like that for a few minutes, Light slightly dozing off in Louis' surprisingly warm embrace while Cliff whistled to himself, swinging his feet back and forth.

Eventually, Assistant Steve entered the room.

"The machine is ready. Please come with me." The robot announced, walking out soon after. Cliff was the first move, getting off the counter and following Assistant Steve.

Louis gently shook Light awake, who mumbled and complained quietly about being moved. Louis just laughed softly, he moved Light off of him and helped him up. They walked out of the room together.

Cliff was standing outside the machine room, the Professor and his assistant were standing within the machine room. Professor Red was by the lever while Assistant Steve was doing some final check ups.

Light eyed the machine, sort of clinging onto Louis, scared for what the machine could do to him since he didn't trust the crystal. The Professor gave him a confused look.

"What are you waiting for? Get in the machine Light." Professor Red gestured hurriedly at the machine, as if time was truly running out for them. Light looked at Louis then looked at the Professor.

"Professor the..crystal didn't feel like it had any energy to it..are you sure this will work?" Light asked, slowly approaching the machine, Louis standing just outside of the room with Cliff.

"What do you mean? I picked up that darn thing and it felt like my hand was freezing off." Professor Red gave Light an odd look, looking at Assistant Steve who nodded it's head, agreeing with it's creator.

Light made a weary sound before finally walking into the machine, facing the people on the outside as Assistant Steve closed him into the machine.

"Alright. 3, 2.." Professor Red began counting down however turned on the machine before saying one, locking Light Steve into the machine and triggering the fusion between him and the Light Crystal to begin.

After a few seconds, Professor Red disabled the machine, unlocking Light and stopping the lightning. Light visibly stumbled in thr machine, landing against the glass in front of him.

Louis rushed into the rook before anyone else could reach the glass, breaking it quickly and pulling Light out of the machine, who's breathing was weak. The orange patches on his body has expanded, covering more of his skin and even spreading into his hair.

Professor Red and Cliff shared a similar concerned expression while Assistant Steve checked on the chest that contained the crystal. The crystal was still there.

"Professor! What did you do to him!?" Louis yelled out, holding Light up in his arms, his body scarily easy to carry. The Professor put his hands up in self defense.

"Why are you blaming me!? I did everything perfectly!" Professor Red yelled back, his eyes darting between Louis and Light, who's breathing was slowly leveling out.

Louis breathed out heavily a few times, trying to calm himself down he didn't accidently drop Light or start fighting Professor Red. Cliff walked over to Louis and Light, gently placing his hand on Light's forehead.

"I'm taking him to the Violet and Pink Leaders, maybe they'll be able to actually do something. Cliff get the crystal." Louis commanded, taking Light and leaving the lab swiftly.

Cliff quickly grabbed the light crystal and ran out after Louis, leaving the Professor and Assistant Steve in the lab. The two shared a look.

"Well sh-"
