Chapter Four: Night Eyes
Zhou Naiyi gently shook her head, "Class 16 was a pilot project of the former principal. Now, that's not important anymore. Since you're here, you must have your own unique strengths. If there are any issues, we can all work together to find solutions. Both Musashi and I are willing to help you."Li Hao paused, his mind racing. Musashi? That explains the sudden invitation for a late-night snack, hiding this motive all along.
"Ahem, class monitor, there seems to be a misunderstanding here. I can handle it on my own, really, I'm seriously reflecting on it," Li Hao insisted, aware of Bleem's unpredictable nature. Having been manipulated by it and then disappearing for so long, its re-emergence likely meant it wouldn't remain idle.
"Li Hao, the class monitor is our top student, and her knowledge of various mecha types and current tactics is the most extensive. Her assistance would significantly accelerate your improvement," Musashi explained. This was his idea, asking Zhou Naiyi for help under the condition that he would join her team.
Li Hao felt the curious gazes from those around them. Zhou Naiyi was a distinguished figure at Tianjing Military Academy. Even in her freshman year, her EMP score had already reached 1500. While a score doesn't represent everything, her everyday performance in all aspects was exceptional. Blessed with 'golden genes,' Zhou Naiyi was stunning at first glance and even more so upon closer observation, an effortlessly graceful presence that drew others to her. Standing at 168 cm, her proportions were flawless, and according to Malong, she was the only one in the academy who could compare to his Manman, both inside and out.
"Class monitor, I feel this might burden you. Our training levels aren't comparable. Let's do this: I promise to reach 1200 points this semester," Li Hao proposed.
Zhou Naiyi looked at him, firm in his resolve, yet she couldn't help but feel it was a bit far-fetched, but she had done her best.
"Musashi, let's leave it at that for now. If you need my help later, it's the same arrangement," Zhou Naiyi said, not persisting any further since she had offered, and he was not interested.
Musashi nodded reluctantly, "Don't worry, class monitor. I'll make sure to follow through on what I promised."
Helplessly, Musashi dragged Li Hao away to train for another two hours before heading back.
"Li Hao, wasn't today exhilarating? You're treating, right?" Malong teased, the plan his idea, but the execution all Musashi's doing, knowing it was bound to succeed.
"Li Hao has declined," Musashi said, somewhat helplessly.
"What? What the heck? Li Hao, that was Zhou Naiyi, Zhou Naiyi! Such a rare opportunity!" Malong was incredulous, a chance to be close to a beautiful girl, and he declined? It seemed like this dorm was the only place without normal people.
"I'm just wary of holding Sister Yi back," Li Hao explained, grabbing Zuo Xiaopang by the neck, "You said we'd go down together, how come you're flying solo now? I thought we were the infamous last two."
