What have I done?

I was talking with Annie in the study, when all of a sudden, Tony barged in and closed the door fast. He looked as if he saw a ghost.

"Tony, are you alright?" Annie asked him as she got up from her chair and went to comfort her brother.

"Yes, I'm fine," He was shaking, "(Y/N), what's wrong with Sebastian?" 

"I don't know what your talking about?" I said confused.

"I believe he threatened me."

"That can't be true. Sebastian is very kind and hospitable towards any guests and or friends of mine." I said. 

Sebastian would never threaten anyone, unless they are trying to hurt me or the family name in any way. But, Tony didn't try to hurt me. He just got here. I just don't understand.

"Hospitable, HAH, you can say that again," He scoffed, "He said that I was being vulgar."

"I just don't understand, after your visit is over, I'll talk with him." I assure him.

We talked and caught up for about 4 hours, and my two friends left. 

"Sebastian, come up to the study. Please" I called after they left.

Sebastian came through the door and stood in front of my desk. I was turned away from him.

"Sebastian. Did you say anything that would have offended Anthony?" I asked.

"My lady I simply-"

"Sebastian. Tell me. Did you or did you not?"

"My words may have came out the wrong way, my lady." He said, almost in regret.

"Sebastian. Anthony is one of my very few friends. I will not tolerate rude behavior. He told me you called him vulgar. I did not find any action that he did vulgar. I'm sorry Sebastian, but you will have to be punished. The Phantomhives are known for their hospitality and what you did was not of the Phantomhive manor."

"What will my punishment be, my lady?" 

"A-a....," It kills me to say this, "A lashing."

I felt my heart drop. 

"I will inform Claude, so he can give you your punishment. I-I truly am sorry, Sebastian." I turned to him with tears brewing up.

He turned away and walked out the door.

What have I done. Sebastian I am very truly sorry. Please won't you forgive me.

A while later I told Claude to take Sebastian down to the basement and to give him his lashing.

"Claude."

"Yes, my lady?"

"Take it easy on Sebastian. Tell him I told you to. That is an order."

He bowed and walked away.

It was the middle of the night. Sebastian's punishment started at midnight and now it 4:30. Even though I was on the 3rd floor. I could still hear the sound of the whip. Claude was still beating Sebastian. I. I couldn't take it. NOT ANYMORE! 

I got up from bed, didn't even bother to put on my robe, and ran down to the basement. I got to the door and heard the crack of the whip and Sebastian's grunts of pain. I know both Claude and Sebastian are demons. That was why I chose Claude to do the punishment, a normal human wouldn't faze Sebastian. Therefore, he wouldn't have learned. Another crack from the whip and I burst through the door. To see Sebastian without his shirt, chained and facing the wall with bloody marks on his back. Claude was looking at me, pleased with himself.

"My lady you shouldn't be up." He went to whip Sebastian again but instead Claude himself got whipped in the face.

I took the whip from Claude before he could hit Sebastian and whipped him in the face.

"Claude, you idiot. I told you to take it easy on Sebastian! You disobeyed me. GO GET ME THE FIRST AID KIT AND SOME WATER! NOW!" I ordered, and he did was he was told.

"Sebastian, I'm so sorry." I unchained him and he grabbed me by the front of my night shirt and held me to the wall.

I felt. Terrified. Of Sebastian.

He looked at me with pure agony and dread in his eyes.

"My lady, I was sworn to protect you by your late father. We made a deal that I could devour his soul once his revenge was complete, then you came into this world he said I could have his soul when he died but I had to protect you. I didn't have to follow that order, but I did. Because I l...." He passed out.

He never finished what he had to say. 

He was in pain.

What have I done?
