This is a brief overview of the ongoing story that I'm posting elsewhere. If you're unfamiliar with Skyrim, or like to know the background information, this chapter should get you up to speed.

----------------------

Brighid and her twin brother Killian grew up on Earth, medical mysteries each and outcasts due to their apparent genetic uniqueness. Following their premature death, they found themselves in the world of Skyrim - a video game that Killian had some experience in, but Brighid was unfamiliar with. The skills they'd cultivated as mediaeval re-enactors and fantasy LARPers translated surprising well, but none of it could truly compare when first Killian, and then Brighid discovered they were both legendary beings known as the Dragonborn - living people with dragon blood, capable of consuming the souls of other dragons and preventing them from being resurrected by Alduin.

They disagreed violently over their supposed "destiny", and after a heated argument parted ways, Killian departing to make his mark in Riften while Brighid went to Falkreath. She formed a close friendship with Hadvar Olansson of the Imperial Legion, though a stern reminder from his commander sent him on his way back to Solitude.

Brighid travelled and engaged in a number of adventures both with friends and alone, encountering werewolves, vampires, and even tangling with the evil cosmic beings called Daedric Princes, .

While in Markarth, Brighid met Ondolemar, a Thalmor Justiciar whose task it was to uphold the ban on Talos worship within the city. He expressed interest in Brighid, sweeping her off her feet and accompanying her for some adventures, and eventually she began dating him. In time, despite his apparent failings and shortcomings, and being unaware of the true nature of Thalmor, Brighid found herself falling in love with him.

After a harrowing experience at the hands of Molag Bal, she took some time away from Markarth, but returned to find some of the less grisly details had been shared with the city and were now the subject of gossip. Desiring to leave town again, she took her ward Kjalle and a list of known Forsworn camps, heading into the mountains and rooting out rebels. Kjalle volunteered to go undercover to locate any more rebels, while Brighid decided that she'd done all she could for now, and returned home.

Some liberties have been taken in regards to lore and game mechanics, to help create a (hopefully) unique variation of the typical Skyrim fanfiction.
