After meeting with the One-Eyed Owl, Minami and I were brought to a base in the 13th Ward, an old abandoned mall. When we arrived, the One-Eyed Owl reverted to a humanoid form and... I had to say, I was surprised by how small she was. Her identity was still a mystery since her entire body was wrapped in bandages and she wore a ragged cloak. As we entered the mall, the twins introduced themselves as Nashiro and Kurona. Unlike the Owl, they seemed colder.

Wandering through the mall, I can't help but notice all the stares we were receiving from all the other Ghouls.

Minami: Owl? Mind if I ask what's the deal with the Ghouls?

One-Eyed Owl: Hm? Oh! Well, I'm sure they're all just wondering who your friend is. After all, male Ghouls are hardly a common thing.

Mutasim: Right... So when do we actually start the training to become a Kakuja?

One-Eyed Owl: Already so eager? That's fair. To answer your question, I want you to get comfortable first and then we can start. Also, you two have caused quite the stir in the Wards. CCG Investigators are exploring a lot more, trying to figure out where the two of you are. Of course, not you two specifically, just any Ghoul duo that's randomly causing mayhem.

I rub the back of my head.

Mutasim: Yeah. We're not exactly... Discreet.

Kurona: Being discreet is half of what we do as Ghouls.

Nashiro: In their defence, they haven't been caught yet by anyone.

Kurona: Sister, please don't fight me on this one...

One-Eyed Owl: Now, now. It doesn't matter. What does matter is they're here and they're now with us in the Aogiri Tree. So I don't want to hear anyone being rude to our guests. Especially my new husband. ~ Which reminds me! We need to plan a wedding!

Mutasim: Oh boy... Minami, what did you drag me into...?

Minami: Hey, you once told me you'd do anything to become a Kakuja, didn't you? Well, by that logic, that means you'd marry the One-Eyed Owl as one of the potential things you'd do.

I open my mouth to argue, but quickly realise she had a point. A low sigh leaves my lips.

Mutasim: I can't believe I let you talk me into this...

One-Eyed Owl: Oh, don't worry. We won't get married instantly. We'll take some time to get to know each other first. I'm not unreasonable.

She stands on her tip toes to pat my head. Despite her being one of the most dangerous Ghouls to ever exist, I couldn't help but find it a cute gesture. Even more so considering her miniature form.

The twins and the Owl show Minami and I around the mall before ending the tour at the bedrooms. However, the Owl made it extremely clear that I wouldn't be sleeping with the other Ghouls and that I'd be sleeping with her in her quarters. Considering what I knew about the Owl, I was expecting her bedroom to be bloody and coated with organs or something.

Instead...

One-Eyed Owl: Sorry about the mess! My double life keeps me pretty busy.

The entire room was covered with empty boxes of bento boxes, papers with scribbles, a computer to the side and the King sized bed a complete mess. I pick up one of the papers and examine it.

Mutasim: So what is your double life? Are you some sort of reporter?

One-Eyed Owl: No. I'm a story writer. Though it's been some time since I made a new book. I've recently been lacking inspiration. So I spend most of my time going over my notes.

I nod slowly, looking at all the papers.

Mutasim: Well you definitely take this job seriously. You must really enjoy it.

One-Eyed Owl: I do. My father loved it. He... was my inspiration.

I notice her tone become softer. Whether it was out of sorrow of the memory or reminiscing in a small joy, I didn't know and I didn't want to push her. I sit down at the foot of the bed and sigh.

Mutasim: Well... Any chance I can read one of your works? I mean, I'm not too big on reading stories, but... A book written by you sounds interesting.

She chuckles and sits next to me.

One-Eyed Owl: I'm glad you think so. And I'd be more than happy to show you my works. But that can wait. The night is still young after all.

Mutasim: So what activity do you have in mind?

With no warning, she pinned me down on the bed and straddled my lap, giggling behind her bandaged face.

One-Eyed Owl: I believe there's no better way to getting to know someone than experiencing how they kiss. ~

She raises a hand to her face, peeling away a few of the bandages, revealing soft and thin lips. I gulp, blushing.

Mutasim: I, uh... I should probably say this is my first time kissing anyone at all.

One-Eyed Owl: I'll be the judge of that. ~

And that was how I spent my first night in the Aogiri Tree, making out with the One-Eyed Owl.

And things would only get more intense from here.
