Chapter 10 - Refocus

Ofius resumed on his work, and busied himself with all the school works he procrastinated enough. Fully focused and cooperative.

Only when lunch came did he finally had a break when his classmate called telling him there was a beautiful lady who was looking for him. Ofius immediately went and saw Stacy patiently waiting for him.

"Stacy?" he was surprised.

Stacy smiled, "Did I disturb you?" she asked.

"Oh, no. I am done with our semester plates, just a little bit of polishing but its done." he said, "Why are you here?"

Stacy tightened her hold on her bag and answered, "I...The dinner with our parents, it just came up to me na parang need ko mang magregalo kay Tita for our first meeting."

Ofius smiled, "Why would you be needing that?"

Stacy sweetly smiled, "Your mother contacted me and said she was excited to see me, so...I think, in my own will, give her something."

Ofius crossed his arms and thought for a bit, "I don't think that's necessary."

"Yes, I know but I just want to, can you help me?"

Ofius chuckled, "Ikaw ha, baka gusto mo lang ako makasama."

Stacy blushed and lightly slapped his arm, "Hindi ah."

They both laughed. Ofius, of course, was completely happy accompanying his crush buying gift for his mother, ramdam nito na parang magkasintahan na sila na bibili ng regalo sa in-laws.

They went into shops for some kind of simple gift because Ofius said that his mother wasn't that fond of any expensive things.

"Ano kaya ang maganda?" Stacy was in dilemma, she couldn't hide the fact she wanted a good impression to Ofius's mother.

"'Wag ka ng mag-alala sa bagay na 'yan, mother will accept anything willfully." he said.

Stacy looked at him, "You said that your mother doesn't like expensive things?"

Ofius nodded, "Simple and pure things, that what she like."

Stacy thought deeply and finally had the idea, "Ah! How about homemade cookies?" she asked with anticipation.

Ofius curved a smile, "Perfect. But do you know how to bake?"

Stacy smiled happily, "I usually help my mother cook and bake some things so, in some way, I'm confident with this."

Ofius can't help but to admire her, this is the reason why he exactly liked Stacy.

They arrived at the supermarket since Stacy will buy the materials and ingredients needed, Ofius accompanied him, pulling the cart behind her as she carefully choose the tools and products.

He was smiling mindlessly as he just observe Stacy when he spotted someone a distance away from them. His smile stiffened as he straightened, it was Chase.

Chase didn't notice them and was in the fruit section, focused on picking some fruits. Ofius can see his slender fingers and thin figure, looking like a stick in the distance.

"Ofius." he snapped when Stacy called.

"O-Oh, coming." he called but his eyes were glued on the man.

Stacy took a while of picking before they were finally done. They went towards the counter and as if fate really wanted it, the last line was Chase. Holding a basket full of fresh fruits and chocolate milk. Ofius could feel himself being tensed again.
