Chapter 20: Its Been A Long Time

A year has past. I guess the world is like this forever. I would have been at graduation, prom, homecoming and many others. I missed all that. But because of what has happened to this world is the reasoning of meeting my love Carl, new friends and discovering things.

Carl and I were walking down to the lake we found. We were on water duty. We sat down and began collecting the water. We sat on a rock and he gave me a kiss on the check. "I love you" he says. "I love you too" I reply with a kiss. We began to hear sticks breaking and leafs crunching across the lake. Carl quickly stands up. He has his knife in his hand, I follow his lead I stand pulling out my knife. It doesn't sound like a walker. Carl gets his gun ready in case of danger. "Um hi..please please don't kill me" I voice says. "I'm just looking for shelter and help. My wife is not doing well. And I must take care of her and my children. do you have a camp?" I think to myself. Should I say something. Carl begins to speck "uh no I'm sorry we don't have a camp. We have people and shelter." The man starts asking many questions. We decide not to take him to where we hide out in case he's trouble. "We'll get our leader and come back. So you can speck with him" I finally say. "Ok" the man says. I run back to Rick and take him to where Carl is watching the man. Rick asks him questions and he answers. All the sudden he pulls out his knife and threatens us. He says "give me all your food, weapons, everything you have". I began to worry Rick pushes us back. All the sudden Rick quickly pulls his knife and stabs him. It was so quick nobody saw it coming.

Carl and I finish doing our water duty and head back with all the water. We filter the water, and boil it, then let it cool and put them into water bottles with each persons name on.
