Chapter 6

Me and Jimin passed the entered into the head alpha's fortress. It was well guarded, the walls were decorated with stuffed animals.
We walked with the rest of the crowd into the ballroom where large tables were set with food and drinks.

Everyone waited for the head alpha's arrival.
Taehyung came rushing towards us, smiling as he stood next to Jimin.
"Father will be here soon," he looked at me "the prey you caught is huge! Father was impressed."
"I'm glad he approved it," I bowed my head at Tae whom whispered something to Jimin, the latter sighed and nodded.

"Hyung I'll be right back I need to help Tae with something,"
"I can handle myself don't worry," I gestured them with my hands to go.
"Be right back hyungie~" Tae said as they walked away.

I stood in my spot for a few minutes observing the room and the crowd, inhaling the scents and emotions looking for any sign of danger.
"I'm sorry," a voice said from the far corner of my eye, I turned to look at it seeing Namjoon bowing in apologetic manner right before he  helped a poor girl back up from the floor.
I chuckled from his sorrowful expression.
She glared at him with annoyance and left.

"Here you are," he said as he reached me "why you're here?"
"I was invited, weren't you there?"
He giggled "no, I mean yeah I was there but I thought you'd be with the head alpha now," he explained standing next to me .
"He has yet to call me," I looked at him smirking "you didn't need to nock that girl out you know,"
He lowered his head defeated "I- well I didn't mean to it's just keep hanging," he sighed
"Keep hanging?"
"Well yeah I tend to drop things with my body,"
"And people," I added
"And people," he looked at me and we both laughed.

A comfortable silence fell on both of us for a few minutes, it was not that bad actually.
I felt at ease with Namjoon's presence and after swearing Tae I felt like I missed him and I felt relieved seeing him, Jungkook looked tough but buttery at the same time, I still didn't know him that well but I was sure he will be okay.

A murmur came from the crowd as most of the ladies were gossiping and giggling amongst themselves, some of the men were also talking, dominance and jealousy was rated from them, the pheromones and testosterones made me scrunch my nose.

"What's everyone whispering about?" I asked Namjoon
"I think some of the troops came back, they've been coming back in small groups each time in the last couple of days,"
"Mmm," still I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about, troops used to come and go where I was regularly, sometimes I was a part of them.

"Hyung," Tae said as he and Jimin walked my direction.
"Father sent me to let you know that after the feast he would like to have a chat with, once everyone's gone." Tae said looking up while talking as if he was quoting.
"Of course," I nodded.
"We should take a sit now," Tae gestured at the table in the middle, as we all followed him.
I didn't see Jungkook and for a weird reason it was weird not seeing him and Tae glued together.

'Oh never mind,' as we got to the left side of the table I saw Jungkook waiting there with a small white band aid on his forehead, polling the first chair close to the head if the table, for Tae who placed his hand on Jungkook with so much gentleness, Jungkook smiled softly and sat next to him, Jimin sat and gestured me to sit next to him, Namjoon was sitting on my right side.

The meal went well, everyone enjoyed their time. When the deer I hunted was put on the table everyone made an impressed faces and voices. The head alpha laughed when he ate from it, saying the meat was excellent.
As the hours passed by and the alcohol poured people were beginning to leave, until me and my table neighbors were the only ones left.

The head alpha stood and signaled me to follow him, we walked into his headquarters room, he sat on his high chair looking down at me as I stood at ease.
"There is so much we need to discuss," he began after a couple of minutes "originally I was going to ask about the past eight years, what was it like and how you were treated, but," he paused briefly his look became stern "I think I figured out most of it, you were able to hear me and moreover you were able to answer me earlier today, I think I have a clue but I would like you to elaborate about how, why and since when you have this ability?"

I knew this ability considered rare but I wasn't expecting it to be this rare to make the head alpha slightly intimidated.

"So, right when I was tak-" a nock on the door cut off my words, as I looked around my shoulder, the head alpha gave his permission to the being to enter the room.
Two figures walked in, standing next me bowing. They were with their protection gear on helmet included, they waited for the head alpha to speak, as he nodded in their direction "You can stand aside for now,"
They walked to his left, both of their right hands on their sword belt.

I raised a brow, as the head alpha gestured me to continue.
"I will say some of the things I can't and will not say in the presence of others, as to what I was taught is secret and sacred," I said firmly the head alpha looked stern but nodded, "say as much as you can at the presence of them," he said.

I nodded firmly.
"On this day I experienced for the first time in many, how it feels to be broken."
