It was summer, the sky was blue and the sun was beaming brightly on the field. Chad and Ryan just got finished with their baseball game and Chad was definitely convinced to bust into some moves in the perfomance later that night. Now with the game over, the team went to wash off all the dirt and sweat the heated match brought. But before Ryan could join the group of guys heading to the locker room, he was stopped by Chad.

"Evans!" He shouted making the blonde boy turn "What you did back there was really impressive, ya know?"

"Yeah, Yeah" A smirk shows up in his pale face "I always been the greatest dancer of the Evans family"

"I'm talking about the baseball dude" He laughs "For a musical preppy like you, those throws were nasty"

"Oh, so what youre saying is, I got game?" Ryan says putting his arm around Chad

"I guess, maybe you could check to see if you got a future on the sport side of East High, the best side."

"Thanks, but I'll stick to the musicals."

"Your funeral" Chad said crossing his arms "Now let's rinse off"

And with that the two head for the showers.

Because of their delayed arrival everyone else had already cleaned off and were on their way back to the club. Leaving the locker room all to themselves. Both of the boys jumped into the showers and started to clean off.

To break the awkward silence, Ryan asked

"Sooo, why are you so anti musical?"

"It's just not my thing. But after everything that happened last year, with Troy and Gabriella, I stopped being a complete hater. But I still would never be part of one"

"Well you're missing out on a lot, just saying"

"And you're missing out by not watching the basketball games"

"What I would do on a basketball game? I don't even know half of the rules"

"Just go to root for the team then"

"Maybe I will" Ryan pauses "To root for you"

"You surprise me, Evans"

"Oh, I do?"

"Yeah, you're actually nice when you're not with your mountain lion of a sister" Chad said with a smirk on his face

"Oh come on, Sharpay it's not that bad, she's just...really passionate about this stuff" Ryan opens a bottle of some expensive luxe shampoo and lathers on to his head "You know, like how you are with basketball"

There was silence, Chad didnt responde anymore which made Ryan worry he had totally killed the cool vibe they created.

But suddenly the white curtain separating Ryan's naked body to the outside world was snatched open. With his bright blue eyes wide open the boy turned to see who, or what, caused the commotion. He finds a wet, and naked, Chad starring back.

After what felt like an eternit, the starring contest ended with Chad hopping in the same shower Ryan was in causing the boy to turn beet red

"What are you doing?" Ryan said frantically covering his body with his hands

"Chill out, we're both dudes"

"Why are you here anyways"

"First I can't believe you compared me to 'Sharpay Evans'" "And second, why are you reacting this way anyways, I mean dont you theater boys tend to be into guys"

"I'm not against it but it has nothing to do with me liking musicals" "And youre not hot enough to awaken any emotions on me"

"Oh yeah?" Chad opens up a smirk. He pushes Ryan agaisnt the tiled wall of the shower

"W-Woah " That was all Ryan could say, he was too nervous to properly compute a sentence. And maybe too flustered to fight against it. Or maybe he didnt feel like fighting it, maybe he...liked it?

Now the two were extremely close, too close for friends, Ryan was quiet trying to pretend this whole situation wasnt happening. But it was hard to ignore being pushed against a wall by a muscular boy like Chad. And Chad knew the impact he was having on the boy, he wasnt innocent.

"Dude, you're totally into me" Chad opened up a wide smile

"As if" Ryan pushes the boy, now finally regaining his senses back "Anyone would get flustered in that situation, you're bananas!" He now stretched to grab the white fluffly towel hanging in a hook outside the shower curtain, quickly wrapping it around his body.

"Youre adorable Evans" Chad still had a smile on his face. He too stepped out of the shower and took the other towel of the hook.

Ryan was scrambling to get dressed and avoid the gaze of the basketball player as to not show him how red his cheek were. With his rush the boy ends up picking up Chad's red uniform instead of his bougie white clothes, Chad realizes and thinks to comment but decides to let the richie make the mistake, reaching for Ryan's white clothes instead.

The two got dressed up in a dead silence probably because Ryan knew if he spoke he would slur his word so it would be best to say nothing. But Chad wasnt done with teasing the boy.

"Evans" He called, but there was no response it was clear Ryan was ignoring him.

"Evans" Chad insisted "Evans"

"What?" Ryan turned with his eyebrow furrowed

Instead of a response the boy instead was met with a kiss from Chad, too shocked to do anything he just let the kiss happening with Chad being the one to break contact.

Chad opened a smile, he got exactly the reaction he wanted, with Ryan just staring at him with his mouth and eyes wide open.

When Ryan recomposed himself, and came back to reality, he did nothing but turn bright red and storm off the locker room stumbling on his own feet trying, but failing, to hide any signs of enjoying the small moment the two shared.

Chad giggled and followed Ryan back onto the club. His lunch break was almost over.
