In the middle of the conversation between the two, an older woman interrupted with "Mr. Olden, we couldn't find you a separate area so we've put you with Mr. Morgan."

"God dammit. I gotta sleep with that sulkin' bastard?" James thought, but he was still grateful for the place to sleep.

He got up and wished Mary-Beth farewell, before heading over to the campfire.

As the flames danced in the darkness, casting eerie shadows around the campsite, James sat down and leaned forward, his voice low and intense. "Gather 'round, guys," he beckoned, "I wanna tell you a story 'bout me."

John and Arthur exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued. They settled closer to the fire, eager to hear what story James had to share.

"I couldn't see the moon, it was an eerily darkened sky," James began, his gaze distant as if transported back to the scene he described. "I stumbled upon an isolated cabin nestled deep within the woods. Smoke came from the chimney, like a beacon in the darkness."

His words hung heavy in the air, mingling with the crackle of the fire. "Inside, I found him, a man who bounced from town to town, and woman to woman. I later learned his name to be Don Bowells."

John and Arthur listened intently, captivated by James's storytelling prowess. "It's almost like fate, I guess, that our paths intertwined," James continued, his voice tinged with a sense of foreboding.

"As the night wore on, tensions rose, and I... I..." James's voice faltered.

"What did ya do?" Arthur prompted, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I... I killed him," James confessed, his tone tinted with almost... Joy. "I smashed his head on the sink, over and over, until it looked like roadkill. Then I uh, I set 'im on fire."

Silence descended upon the campsite, broken only by the crackling of the fire. John and Arthur exchanged solemn glances, grappling with the weight of James's revelation. In that moment, they realized that they aren't the only ones with stories to tell.
