As the opulent celebration unfolded in the sprawling mansion of the Choi's, the air was thick with the scent of extravagance and hidden agendas.

Mr. and Mrs. Choi moved through the crowd, their smiles strained beneath the weight of their carefully crafted facade of marital bliss, as they met and greeted by guests, Friends, and Family.

The couple has given their speech of gratitude to those who had attended and celebrated this joyous occasion with them,

"Happy anniversary, my dear," Mr. Choi murmured to his wife, his voice dripping with false affection as he pressed a kiss to her cheek, as the crowd watched them, cheering and clapping for such a perfect marriage.

Mrs. Choi forced a smile in return, her eyes betraying a hint of sadness as she nodded in acknowledgment. She knew all too well the truth behind their seemingly perfect union-a truth hidden beneath layers of expensive gifts and public displays of affection.

The entire party was a slumber, why am I even here? Rolling my eyes as I rested my back on the wooden upholstery.

Jamie and I observed the festivities from a secluded corner of the garden, as we silently watched the high-profile guests mingle and gossip.

"This party is a farce," Jamie muttered, his voice tinged with disgust as he glanced around at the extravagance on display. "The wine's good though..." he added with a grin, savoring his glass of 1787 Chateau Margaux.

I absentmindedly nodded, my mind elsewhere as I pondered the evening ahead. I would have much preferred to be at home than stuck in this charade of a celebration.

Cross and a few of his men approached, their pace quick and urgent. As Cross drew near, he leaned in closer, his expression grave.

"Judge Jo isn't coming," Cross whispered urgently, his eyes alight with a sense of purpose. I shot him a frustrated look, tired of waiting for the one chance to turn the tide in our favor. "He had a slight accident earlier, slipped and fell off the stairs," Cross explained further.

My gaze hardened with resolve as I absorbed Cross's words, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Well, I guess there's nothing for us here. Let's go," I said, disappointed that our plan had been thwarted before it even began.

"Sly motherfucker..." Jamie hissed, putting his empty glass down on the table and straightening his coat. "Shall we?" he asked, turning to me as I mulled over our options.

I nodded before standing up. "Get the car ready," I commanded, my hands clenched in determination.

Two of my men immediately scurried away to carry out my orders while Jamie, Cross, and the remaining men followed behind me, navigating through the sea of socialites.
