A few moments passed us by and despite my initial excitement to mess with the villain of the story and outwit him at his own game, suddenly I was frozen in place, my legs were basically glued to the pavement I was standing on. Soon Mikey's dissatisfied voice echoed in my ears, dragging me back to reality.
"Why are you still standing here? Catch up to him for goodness sake!" He seemed rather impatient, which was fair considering I shared the tale of how Kisaki was mostly behind his endless suffering and for stupid reasons at that, but I couldn't suddenly overlook the fear that immobilized me in the first place.
"I suddenly lost all the confidence." I shamefully admitted.
"What?" He couldn't grasp what he was hearing.
"Are you for freaking real?" I could hear the anger building up in his voice.
"I mean isn't he some kind of genius in the making? What if he catches up to us? What if he secretly developed mind reading? Then he will know what kind of embarrassing stuff I did today." I was not expecting this guy to pinch my cheeks. Getting hit by him was more of a pattern I was familiar with at this point.
"Stop with the nonsense, he obviously has no superpowers, so go over to him!" Easy for him to say, why was I always the one required to pull all the strings? Shouldn't it have been a joint collaboration?
"If you're so eager, why not go out there and have a talk with him yourself?" It ended up with us wrestling in the middle of the road, that is until something unexpected took place, the guy in question decided to approach us instead.
"I had this feeling you were staring at me for a long while... do the two need something from me?" Kisaki directed the question towards me for the most part. We both stood up straight while clearing our throats, suddenly embarrassed about our little dispute.
"Yeah... as strange as it sounds I lost a bet to her... she dared me to ask a stranger out to spend a day with us in the amusement park... and I was about to ask you if you wanted to tag along. Since you looked to be similar to our age." After I swiftly expressed my lingering thoughts, I held my breath anticipating his answer, would he swallow the hook I so painstakingly prepared?
"Sure, that works fine for me." Me and Mikey both looked at each other our eyes sparkled considering our plan worked out so well.
"Let's go, there is no time to waste." I grabbed Kisaki's arm, while Mikey followed my lead and did the same.
"Is this necessary?" He questioned, probably feeling highly uncomfortable because the person he tried to take advantage of was now treating him like a buddy.
"Of course, we can't let our newfound victim escape." He started at me, his eyes exposing his initial shock, even his composed face couldn't save him from revealing his inner thoughts.
"Mavis you lead the way." Mikey glanced at me with his brow raised, but it must have dawned on him that I had no clue where most of the things were in this country. However, our dynamics changed once we reached the place.
"Three tickets please." I slapped down the money that was left over from the time I demanded cash from my nemesis so he could cover my undercover mission expenses. It seemed like the cashier liked my enthusiastic and beaming smile, considering how kind she treated us.
Once we passed through the entrance and our tickets were scanned by one of the staff members I couldn't stop myself from adding.
"It kind of feels like we are on a date, aren't I right?" Mikey narrowed his eyes in my direction, acknowledging I meant Kisaki in this instance and not his stupid ass.
"You're on thin ice." Was his only response, before we tried to drag our poor victim along in two different directions.
"We going on the roller coasters first!" Mikey demanded but I had a totally different plan.
