"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, it's about learning to dance in the rain." — Taylor Swift

"This is DELICIOUS," I tell Harley. Har is about 5'5", an inch smaller than me. She has straight blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, i dont, i have bright red wavy hair and emerald eyes. She just made honeybee pancakes, yes i didn't get it either, until i tasted it.

She just brought them with her to my beach house,

"Really? I wasnt sure if i put too much coconut in it." I don't know how she does it, but everything she bakes or cooks always tastes like heaven. "Too much? This is perfect Har!" Unfortunately i can't get any more, because she pulls them away. "Not everything is for you Clem." She tells me, I whine.

"So, tell me the gossip! I need to know everything." Harley always knows all the gossip. "I heard a new boy is coming in town, from Chicago" She wiggles her eyebrows, "They say he's hot." She winks at me suggestively, "Har, i have a boyfriend." I remark, "Yeah, but he's an asshole." "He is not!" He just never said i love you back. My brain betrays my point.

Oliver is super hot, he has short dark brown hair and eyes, and he is super smart.

It's almost a year ago when I finally accepted his offer to go on a date, our anniversary is in 5 days. I got him the perfect gift, it's a chain necklace, and I already know he's gonna love it!

"I actually question myself why I let you date-" She gets interrupted by the bell, "I'll get it!"

I walk to the door from the kitchen, I open it. "RISSY!" I jump in Clarissa's arms. "I missed you!"

Harley comes running to us, "OMG! You have to tell us everything you saw and did on your trip!" Clarissa just came back from Norway.

"Okay," she pauses, "But first, did I hear correctly that a new boy is moving here?"

"Yes! And he's mega hot!" Clarissa looks at me with a mischievous look. "No, Riss," I glare at her. "UGH. You know I need to live vicariously through you with boys, and Oliver is a dickhead." She whined "See!" Harley pointed to Rissy.

Clarissa's not wrong tho. Since Har's a lesbian, and Clarissa's not allowed to date -she told herself so-, I have the duty to fill her in on the boys part.

After 2 hours of catching up with Rissy and just talking about life, the doorbell rings again. I walk to the door, and look through the peephole, "Hey guys," they walk over, "Do you guys know her?" I ask, they both reply 'no'.

I open the door. There's a woman who's I think about 50, her grey hair tied up in a bun, with beautiful hazel eyes and luscious red lips, and a beautiful girl with the same features, but with dark brown hair, that looks around 7. She's holding a plastic box full of cards.

"Hi I'm Anna," the little girl starts, "And that's my mommy!" She nervously added. "Hi I'm Marin, and all of the other information you want to know about us is on this card, we live next door!" I laugh and we all take a card, "Thanks!" I close the door, before it's fully closed I notice a boy. But before I can see how he looks the door is closed. I read the info on the card.

Dear neighbors,
We just moved in on Hedgewood Ln 338
We are thrilled to meet you all in person, but I have an important business trip I have to go on. Here's a quick get-to-know us.
I'm Malin Donovan, 49, and divorced.
My ethnicity is France.
I have two children,
Xavier Blackwell, he's 24.
And Annabelle Blackwell, she's 7 and a half.
We moved here, because I got divorced from my college sweetheart (not so sweetheart anymore).
Best Regards!

"Xavier Blackwell? That must be the guy Har was talking about!" Rissy points out.

"Yes! I think I remember his name being Xavier!" Harley remarks.

I put on some music. Nonsense starts playing and we all start dancing to it. "You said you like my eyes and you like to make them roll," Me and Harley start singing the lyrics. "Treat me like a queen, yeah you got me feeling thrown." Clarissa starts singing with us.

We all talk until the sun sets. Clarissa and Harley go home.

I walk out to the see, it's still warm so I remove my clothes and go swimming in my bathing suit.

I leave my clothes with my towel and into the ocean. The cooling water splashing against me.

I dip my head underwater and swim around a little.

When I'm ready to go out, I notice a boy walking to the ocean. Is that Xavier?

"Who are you?" I shout. "Xavier, you?" He sits down. "Clementine."

"Jeez, Clementine? Your parents really had to name you after a fruit?" He laughs, "This city is even weirder than I imagined." Ugh. Kids in school used to bully me all the time for my name, I didn't think he'd blow so low. "Better a fruit than being nuts." I smirked, even though he can't see me in the dusk.

It started raining, warm tropical rain. "Well, I should go, I have a hungry cat waiting." I wrap my towel around my body. "Bye!" I walked inside of my house before he could say anything back. Karma, my fluffy black cat, was indeed miauwing hungrily. I gave her some food and went to bed.
