Vivienne was nervous, she couldn't lie

Vivienne was nervous, she couldn't lie. After being stood up by him once, she was apprehensive to the idea. However, here she was, dressed in her best gown with her hair loosely settled into a well-done bun. Her favorite pair of black pumps complimented the navy hues of her tightly fitted dress. Pearls adorned her neckline with splatters of silver earrings and bracelets. To say the least, she really put in the effort to look her best.

And she didn't want any more time wasted.

It was thirty past 7 now, and their reservation was set for 8, so all Vivienne could do was wait patiently until the arrival of Edgeworth. As she waited, Vivienne fidgeted with the hem of her dress, smoothing out imaginary wrinkles and adjusting her hair for the twentieth time. Vivienne was determined to make a lasting impression, and every detail of her appearance was carefully curated to achieve just that, though it wasn't something she had to try very hard for.

The girl was a darling, and anyone would be lucky. Glancing at the clock once more, Vivienne sighed softly, a mix of anticipation and nervousness fluttering in her stomach. She had never been one to fret over dates, but there was something about this specific one that made her want everything to be perfect.

A knock on her front door was enough to break the everlasting silence. On the other side, Miles was adjusting his dashing black tie with one hand, in the other was a beautiful curated bouquet of flowers. He gulped, unsure of how to present himself as this was something he didn't want to mess up.

"Coming," He could hear her soft spoken voice echo through the door, a soft patter of heels clicking against the concrete door as they got closer.

When he opened the door, he was stunned to his core. As the door swung open, Edgeworth was met with a sight that took his breath away. Before him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and a warm smile graced her lips as she greeted him.

"Hello, Miles," she said, her voice soft yet filled with such warmth that almost made him melt. Vivienne couldn't help but smile at him as she took in his appearance, finding it amusing as the two unintentionally matched. He complimented an impeccable navy blue suit, accentuating his broad shoulders yet slender frame. An elegant white dress shirt underneath that opposed his detailed black tie. His hair slicked back neatly - polished, professional, and chic.

Edgeworth was at a loss for words, completely captivated by her beauty. He had seen her before, of course, but tonight she looked truly radiating. She reminded him of the night sky, a brilliant, twinkling ray of stars against the dark navy background. She wore a gorgeous navy blue cocktail that suited his own, her hair delicately curled up into a bun, and soft sprinkles of brown makeup brought out the sparkle from her eyes. "You look stunning," he managed to stammer out, his normally composed demeanor faltering the slightest. He found himself at a loss of words for a second, managing to say whatever he could without making a fool out of himself. He could feel his heart racing against his breath.

Vivienne could argue she felt the same as a tint of red flushed her cheeks, "Thank you. You look rather dashing yourself."

"These are for you," Miles presented the adorned bouquet, splattered with hints of red florals.

"I love them," Vivienne took a smell of the sweetly fresh scent, "Give me one second. Come in."

She made her way into her kitchen, pulling out a vase and filling it with water, gently placing the flowers inside and then settling it upon her transparent dining table.

Miles glanced around, taking in the sheer volume of the room. Large windows let in plenty of sunlight during the day, their beige curtains drawn closed at night for privacy. The hallways extended beyond three doors, leading to a single door at the end.

He noticed the high ceilings, adorned with intricate molding that spoke of the building's history. The walls were painted a soft cream color, giving the room a warm and inviting atmosphere, with splatters of accent walls. A few paintings hung on the walls that added a touch of comfort. Everything was neatly organized, arranged, and clean besides a few lingering pieces that would be expected. However, he couldn't help but admire how well kept the young woman was, even her office was incredibly orderly.

"Okay, I'm done. We should head out before it gets too late," Vivienne responded, breaking Miles out of his train of thought, "Of course." Miles stuck his arm out charmingly, letting the young Deputy gently place her palm against his bicep.

For a prosecutor, the man was pretty well built.

They made their way the to the restaurant, making small talk here and there about little at work or conversations related to mutual acquaintances, such as Gumshoe or Samuel.

Throughout their exchange, Vivienne couldn't shake the feeling of how remarkably natural it all felt. Initially, conversing with Miles had been a challenge, almost infuriating, but now, there was a newfound ease between them. And she's not sure if she necessarily likes it.

Miles on the other hand, was feeling a harsh exposure of vulnerability. Despite how easy it was to speak with her, something was nagging at him to not get too close. It was a feeling he couldn't quite shake, a lingering doubt that cast a shadow over their interaction. However, the more Vivienne spoke, the more her voice soothed his mind.

Arriving at the restaurant just in time for their reservation, Miles spoke briskly to the hostess. "Edgeworth. Party of 2," he stated, his tone cool and composed as the young hostess quickly checked her list.

"Right this way, please," she replied, leading them to a table situated by a large window overlooking a breathtaking view. Outside, a beautifully landscaped garden stretched out, complete with an enormous fountain cascading water droplets into a pool below. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, with soft lighting and elegant decor adding to the charm of the setting.

"How do you like?"
