Vivian smiled, her eyes twinkling. "Wonderful."
Delilah. "Do you mind if we stay out here for a while?"
Vivian chuckled. "My dear, you and Lord Lennox can stay out here as long as you would like. You may even leave if that is what you wish."
Gregory. "As much as we would like to stay Miss Morgan, I think it is time I take Miss Martin to Lennox Park."
Delilah felt her heart sputter. She would be going to Gregory's London estate. It would be their first night together.
Vivian. "Very well my Lord. I will see the two of you soon."
Gregory turned to Delilah once they were alone. "Are you ready to leave?"
Delilah smiled softly, nodding. "Yes."
Taking her hand, Gregory escorted her to the carriage that was waiting for them. After helping her inside, he climbed in after her, settling back on one of the tufted seats. Closing the door, he tapped on the carriage roof, signaling for the driver to begin moving the vehicle.
Delilah settled back against her own seat as the carriage began to move down the cobblestone streets. She took a breath, relaxing. She had no idea what Lord Gregory Lennox was capable of when it came to the act of lovemaking, but she was hoping he would be different from Lord Victor Darcy. She found herself looking down at her gloved hands, which were nestled in her lap.
Gregory reached forward, placing his fingertips under her chin and lifting it so their eyes met. "Is something troubling you?"
Delilah blinked, staring at him. "How do you know something is troubling me?"
Gregory. "You've been very quiet."
Delilah took a breath. "I... I am afraid."
Gregory's fingers moved from her chin to her cheek, caressing it tenderly. His voice was soft. "What has you afraid?"
Delilah swallowed, tears gathering at the corners of her eyes. "I'm afraid that you might hurt me."
Those fearful words struck Gregory's heart like a knife. Instinctively, he slid his arms around Delilah's waist, pulling her across the carriage and onto his lab. He stared deep into her eyes, his filled with conviction. "I promise you, swear to you, that I will not be like Lord Darcy. From this moment forward, I will love you and cherish you, not use you for my own pleasure. You have my word that I will never lay a violent hand on you."
Delilah felt the sincerity flowing from him, felt his words of assurance wrap around her like a velvet ribbon of protection. Gregory was going to take care of her, love her and cherish her. She wasn't going to be used any longer.
Gregory caressed her cheek. "May I kiss you Delilah?"
Delilah felt her heart stop. "You wish to kiss me in this carriage?"
Gregory knotted. "I do. Have you never been kissed in a carriage before?"
Delilah felt her cheeks become pink. "Once, but not properly."
Gregory. "Was Darcy not an excellent kisser?"
Delilah found herself bursting into laughter. "He was atrocious! The man did not even take my own pleasure into consideration. He simply kissed me without my consent."
Gregory rolled his eyes, but then smiled. "Well, that bastard is gone, and I am with you now."
Delilah. "You are."
Gregory's lips were at her ear, his warm breath flowing across her cheek. "I pose my question again, may I kiss you?"
Delilah moved her hands up to his shoulders, then to his face. She tilted it so that they were gazing into one another's eyes. "You may."
His eyes dancing with desire, Gregory closed the distance between them, kissing her softly. His lips weren't forceful, but gentle and patient. He brought her against him, pressing her body to his.
Delilah closed her eyes, intertwining her arms around his neck. Good Lord, Viscount Lennox was a delicious kisser. Feeling his tongue glide against her lips, she opened her mouth willingly, her tongue tentatively meeting his.
Gregory's arms tightened, his tongue stroking against hers. Bloody hell, Delilah was driving him mad. After several more minutes of passionate kissing, he broke their connection, only to bring his lips to her neck.
Delilah moaned, tilting her head back to give him more room. She tensed for a fraction of a second, feeling his lips glide against her skin. Was he going to bite her and leave a mark like Victor had?
Gregory raised his head, his eyes fixed with hers. "Relax my dear, I will not hurt you."
That was all Delilah needed. She closed her eyes, her head reclining back once again as Gregory's lips sweetly assaulted her neck. She felt his lips glide against her skin, then move lower to her collarbone. Her fingers moved to caress his silky curls.
Unfortunately, before things could become even more heated than they already were, the carriage came to a stop in front of Lennox Park. Gregory and Delilah straightened as the driver came around to their side of the carriage and opened the door. Thanking him, they stepped out and walked into the magnificent London estate.
The inside of the home was comprised of white walls with mahogany wood floors that went all throughout the upstairs and downstairs portion. Downstairs had the parlor, ballroom and dining room, Library, drawing room, and kitchen. Upstairs had several bedrooms.
Gregory smiled. "My dear, welcome to Lennox Park."
Delilah. "This is beautiful."
Gregory. "Thank you. I adore this London townhouse, as well as my country estate, Lennox Hall."
Delilah. "Is Lennox Hall just as large as this?"
Gregory. "It is, they both have the same structure. They also have the same layout."
Delilah. "I'm glad everything is similarly structured."
Gregory chuckled as they walked upstairs. "I am more than happy to give you a tour tomorrow if you would like."
Delilah. "That would be lovely. For now though, I do want something else."
