For the ones who are always assumed to be the villain,

May you finally realize your worth,

Either as the villain,

Or the secret hero,

It doesn't matter.

She looked around at the fires burning, the people screaming, and she looked down, putting a hand to her face, and shoulders shaking as she silently laughed. The hero's eyes narrowed and he tensed as he watched her, sword at the ready to attack. Her silent laughs turned into quiet chuckles, with turned into full on cackling.

"Ahhh look around at all this beautiful chaos!". She turned to look at the hero, a big grin on her face, and her arms spread. The hero glared at her "I always suspected something like this might happen. And now that it has, I'm not surprised that it's you" he spat.

This only made her grin grow. "Oh? How wonderful. I didn't disappoint"

"...Why are you doing this? You used to be-" he started, but quickly got interrupted.

"Why? Am I doing this?" she said, laughing, then glared at him, sending shivers down his spine at its' coldness. "I'm merely becoming what the world expected me to. Isn't this what you wanted? An evil villain?"

Her expression turns back into a smile "And honestly, I'm glad I finally did. I feel so free. No more of the rules and laws of society to hold me back. It's great. Not that you would particularly care."

The hero glares at her once again "Shut up. You may know me, and we might have been friends in the past, but I can't a-" he gets cut off again.

"Yeah, yeah. You 'can't allow me to hurt anyone else' and yada yada. How about you just shut up, ok? You are nothing, and I mean nothing, with out me. You need a villain like me to exist. But me? The 'villain' of this story? I don't. You depend on me, to stay like this, terrorizing people, so you can be liked by them. But me? I can stay like this, whether you're here or not. So how about we just both agree that I'm better than you, and call it a day, hm?"

He stared at her, his expression horrified. "T-that's- that's simply not true!" he spluttered out, though they both knew it was true.

She grinned, drawing her sword, getting into position to fight, and going for the first hit. He quickly drew his sword and parried her strike. They went back and forth, blocking and striking the other's sword in hopes of getting a hit.

As the battle went on, they both got more exhausted, when finally, the hero stuck her, slashing across her chest. She cried out in pain and fell to the floor, with blood rushing from the wound.
