‘When you're young, your teachers and parents will tell you that everyone is special, that everyone has a purpose, that everyone belongs in this world. I'm here to tell you, it isn't true. There are people that belong, and people that don't. I am one who doesn't.’ Raiu thought as he was thrown to the ground by some bullies, Katsuki Bakugo at the lead. ‘I have no quirk, and my brain works differently than others, is that so wrong?’ He continued to think as they punched and kicked him, a usual part of his day by now. Raiu was in the middle of his school years, and didn't often fit in with those around him. He was usually smarter than his class and had a couple of disorders that kept him from making friends. Raiu had anxiety, paranoia, ADHD, and antisocial disorder, blocking him from making, much less keeping, friends. Bakugo and his gang eventually quit and spit on Raiu.

“Quirkless extra, why don't you just go die already?” Bakugo said as they walked away.

‘It's not as if I don't want to….I'm just too much of a coward to try.’ Raiu thought as he weakly stood up. He could only wince as his muscles and bones ached with each movement, sending throbs of agony throughout his body. Often, he wondered if they ever broke anything, but didn't care either way. As Raiu walked home, he encountered someone from his class, Izuku Midoriya. They weren't friends, but they talked a couple times, finding a bit of comfort being quirkless outcasts. Raiu walked over to Izuku, who was watching the news on a TV in a store window.

“Hey, Midoriya.” Raiu spoke as he stood beside the teen. “Oh, hey, Igarashi. What brings you here?” Izuku asked as he turned, instantly noticing the bruises and cuts on him. “What happened? Is it Kacchan again?” Izuku asked with worry for his acquaintance.

Raiu simply shook his head, indicating he was fine. “I was just walking home from school and saw you here. Watching the latest battle between heroes and villains?” He asked as he pointed at the TV at which Izuku nodded.

“It must be so cool to be able to fight like that. I can't wait to apply for UA in a few years.” Izuku said excitedly. Raiu just sighed, knowing he wouldn't be able to, given how he viewed himself.

Izuku looked over at him. “Is something wrong?” Raiu just shook his head.

“You ever feel like you don't belong? Like no one will ever want you around?” Raiu asked, his hopelessness filling his eyes.

Izuku suddenly shifted to serious. “Igarashi. What do you mean?”

Raiu sighed. “Just….forget I said anything. I'll see you in school tomorrow,” he said walking away.

Izuku placed a hand on Raiu’s shoulder. “You shouldn't be so negative. There are good things in the world. You….just have to find them.” He said with a reassuring smile.

Raiu just nodded before walking home.

~Timeskippu, the time maiden has been here~

Two years have passed since then, and Raiu and Izuku have been friends for a year now.

Izuku sighed as he walked beside his friend. “You should really try to be positive. I'm sure you'll be able to if you try.”

As they walked, they heard commotion in a nearby alley. As they went to inspect it, they found a couple of girls being cornered by thugs.

They spent no time running forward. If they were going to be heroes, they'd have to act as soon as possible. They slid between their legs and stood up in front of the girls, glaring at the adults in front of them.

“Not one step further, criminals!” Raiu shouted as he took a fighting stance. He didn't know how to fight properly yet, but he would still try if it meant saving someone.
