Akeno's nightmare

[scene: Akeno's home]

Akeno has returned to her shrine, that she has been living in, she then got ready for bed as it was late out, once she was changed and on her bed she thought back to (Y/n) said.

Akeno: The thing holding me back? What could be holding me back?

Akeno then looks to the side and notices a photo faced down.

Akeno:... 'Maybe...'

Akeno then shake her head to clear her thoughts, as she didn't want to go down that train of thought. So she then put her head down and begin to drift off. As she fell asleep she then hears Rias call her name.

Rias: Akeno. Akeno wake up!

Then Akeno woke up, however she was in the shrine, she was in the clubroom where Rias and her peerage do their devil work. She also noticed she was in her school uniform.

Rias: I see you're now awake, did you get enough sleep last night?

Akeno:...no Rias I was up thinking...

Rias: Thinking about what?

Akeno:...How to confront my past.

Rias:...I see, well I'm glad you are taking steps in the right direction. However you will might need to put that on hold for now. Issei and the others in our help.

Akeno: Oh? What happening?

Rias: Apparently a powerful stray Devil has appeared.

Akeno: But wouldn't the archbishop inform you about such a powerful stray here in kuoh

Rias: Normally you would be correct, however there isn't much information about this stray.

Akeno: *licks her finger* well I look forward to seeing what this stray can do.

Rias: Down girl. We will be teleporting as close as we can get, Issei and the others should all ready there.

Rias then cast a magic circle as she and Akeno then steps onto the circle, which thens transparent both the king and queen to the rest of the peerage are. Once they got close enough, they walk towards the area, which they didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Rias: How strange this was the location Issei and the others were. Where could they be?

Akeno: 'Something feels off'

Then a fog begins to surround the two, it got to the point that they couldn't even see or hear each other anymore. Akeno then walks forward on guard to make sure she was careful. All the while she felt like something was watching her. She then hears something and walked in that direction, once she made it to the location she was in horror as Koneko, one of her juniors and fellow peerage member, was killed. She then rushed over to see Asia and Xenovia as well.

Akeno: What happened here?

Suddenly she hears Rias screaming. So Akeno immediately ran towards her friend to help, once she got there she saw Rias was in the stray devil's grip and the rest of the peerage was dead as well.

Akeno: You monster!

Akeno then casted her holy lightning against the monster, however nothing happened. She looked up and noticed there was no lightning she then raised her hands but not a single spark.

Akeno: What the?! Why can't I use my lightning?!

She then turns to Rias as she hears a thud, she looked to see Rias's dead body.

Akeno: RIAS!

Akeno then got from her bed as she screamed Rias's name. She looked around to see that she was in the shrine. Her breathing began to slow down and return to normal.

Akeno: It was just a dream.

Akeno then got up to get a glass of water, as she thought about what happened close to the end of her dream.

Akeno: What was that about, I couldn't use my lightning.

Akeno then opens her hand as she used all her demonic elements, including lightning. So she then decides to try her holy lightning. What happened shocked Akeno. She had caused a spark of holy lightning in her hand, she stopped when she felt pain. Once she cancelled the magic she looked at her hand to see a scorch mark in her hand. This shocked Akeno, she has been using her holy lightning after the incident with Kokabiel, when she did it never hurt her.

Akeno: What is was that about?

She then again thought back to (Y/n)'s words.

Akeno: Does this have something to do with what is holding me back? I still need to apologise to the others, as well.

She then finished her water and went back to bed. Planning to try and speak to the rest of her old friend group and maybe try to get them to forgive her, which she would have to do during the break so she doesn't fall behind on her school life and her Devil work as Rias's queen, not to mention an important event will being held soon, she she has much to do. However she was unaware that something within her has changed.
